Your career in Commerce
-
-
Key Account Management
This is the most prominent role in commerce, focused on B2B relationships. Key Account Managers own retailer relationships and annual negotiations, while e-KAMs drive performance across e-commerce and pure players e.g. Amazon. Account Executives and Junior KAMs learn the negotiation process on specific categories and smaller accounts, while Sales Directors set the strategy and drive performance at scale.
-
-
Business Development
This team builds the perfect path to purchase. Shopper Insight Managers track in-store consumer behaviour, Category Managers pitch the "ideal shelf" to retailers, Visual Merchandisers design the physical displays, and Space Planners build the digital maps dictating where every product lands.
-
-
Trade Marketing and Commercial Activation
This team translates brand marketing into real sales results. Trade Marketing Managers build promotional calendars and retail activations. Channel Managers specialise in specific distribution environments to tailor the strategy, while Commercial Development Managers drive long-term growth by launching new in-store concepts and entering new territories.
-
-
Field Sales and Store Execution
The difference is often made in-store. Regional Managers lead specific geographic territories, directing the Field Sales Reps who visit stores to negotiate space and manage displays. Alongside them, Sales Trainers ensure beauty advisors are ready to pitch new launches.
-
-
Revenue Growth Management
This is where data meets decision-making. Revenue Growth Managers steer pricing, promotions and product mix to maximise value. Sales Operations Analysts power CRM, dashboards and reporting. Commercial Controllers track budgets and profitability, while Demand Planners connect sales and supply to forecast volumes with precision.
-
-
Digital Commerce and E-Commerce
This specialised function owns our digital storefronts. Pure Player Managers are dedicated to platforms like Amazon focusing on SEO and algorithm optimisation. Digital Merchandisers ensure the "online shelf" with constant optimisations, while Direct-to-Consumer Managers drive sales and loyalty programmes directly through our brand websites.
From supermarkets
to luxury counters
Unmatched scale and ecosystem diversity: operate across our global distribution network. From mass retail and salons to luxury boutiques, dermocosmetics, and travel retail, you connect with consumers across every touchpoint.
Omnichannel (O+O) and digital leadership: steer an integrated O+O ecosystem. Whether scaling with pure players, developing e-commerce, running D2C, or testing social commerce and livestreaming, you build skills across industry-leading platforms.
Strategic partnerships and category co-creation: build long-term retailer alliances, aligning on joint business plans and category visions to shape how people shop for beauty.
Data-driven commercial transformation: guide commerce using data, retail media, and tech. By optimising pack-price architecture, testing new models, and launching emerging channels, you deliver measurable value.
Accelerated 360° growth and leadership: you'll develop fast through specialised training from L'Oréal University for O+O Commerce. Combined with early team responsibilities, you gain the skills needed to lead commercial operations.

What it takes
to succeed in Commerce
We look for people who combine commercial drive with analytical thinking, strong relationship and negotiation skills. You’ll need to be comfortable with performance, data and fast-moving retail environments, while also understanding brands and consumer behaviour.
Most careers start through internships, apprenticeships or junior commerce roles. What makes candidates stand out? Commercial ambition, brand sensitivity, analytical rigour and on-the-ground execution. You don’t need to arrive obsessed with beauty, but curiosity is really important.

No, they are completely connected. We operate on an O+O (Offline plus Online) model. You won't win on the digital shelf without understanding the physical one, and vice versa. Whether you are a Key Account Manager or an E-commerce Lead, expect to collaborate daily across sales, marketing, and supply chain to build a single, seamless shopper journey.
-
It entirely depends on your role. If you are in Field Sales, expect to be out with clients or in stores up to four days a week - this is a high-travel, on-the-ground role. Key Account Managers and E-commerce teams generally follow our standard hybrid model, spending three days in the office or with retail partners, and two days working remotely. We will clarify the setup further during the interview process.
-
The targets are ambitious, and the pace is fast. We track market share, sell-out, and profitability closely. However, you don't hit those numbers alone. The culture is highly collaborative - you will have the data, the trade marketing insights, and the cross-functional support you need to deliver. We care about the numbers, but we care just as much about the relationships you build with our retail partners to get there.
-
Yes, actively. In fact, we encourage it. Because the lines between physical and digital retail are blurring, having experience in both makes you a much stronger commercial leader. Many of our E-commerce Directors started in traditional Key Account Management, and vice versa. Your career path here isn't locked into a single channel.
