What You Will Learn:

responsible for overseeing and assisting the order processing team in either assembly, receiving, shipping or case pick or layer pick operations, ensuring the accurate selection of products to fill customer orders and flow of products through the building in a manner that meets company standards of safety, quality, and productivity, while maintaining accurate inventory.  This employee partners with the leadership team to ensure resources are allocated correctly within the DC to ensure efficient operations.   A Team Leader I must be available to work scheduled hours to meet customer demands.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in product flow operations.  Ensures the team efficiently receives, picks customer orders for shipment, while confirming the correct number and type of damage free products are palletized and prepared to ship.  Ensure proper labeling is placed on all orders; maintain all data and records as appropriate.  Monitor and make appropriate transactions in WMS.
  • Certifies the training of newly hired employees, both permanent and temporary, on tasks, duties, and responsibilities within operations.
  • Ensure the team conducts operations and model behaviors that promotes a safe environment within their operations.
  • Troubleshoot and reconcile inventory issues throughout the warehouse; keep appropriate records and reports to solidify inventory control.  Ensure the team checks product for accuracy in inventory and damage, communicating any discrepancies immediately.  Assist in physical inventories.  Ensure proper stock rotation in the WMS.
  • Ensures the team maintains a clean and orderly work area.  Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent 
  • 1-3 years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Suite, familiarity with electronic scanning devices a plus
  • Demonstrate professional judgment and sound decision-making skills
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrate 100% responsibility with regard to actions and reactions
  • Act as a responsible citizen in our company and community
  • Must be able to interact effectively – both internally and externally
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to manage in complex situations, often needing to deliver innovative results quickly

  • Must be able to work flexible hours/shifts, as needed

Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including high visibility clothing, safety glasses, protective-toe shoes, and on occasion gloves Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. required

Must be able to stand occasionally for prolonged periods
