What will be your activities and responsibilities?
Within Advanced Research, in the D3I - International Innovative Ingredients Department, you will evolve in an international environment and be responsible for sourcing and developing Innovative Raw Materials in response to the major challenges of Research & Innovation and L'Oréal's "For the Future 2030" Sustainable Development objectives.
YOU WILL…
Identify and co-develop functional ingredients for cosmetics: You will be required to:
- Understand your ingredient portfolio, its specificities, and its performance in cosmetics.
- Work particularly on the development of new silicone ingredients and active ingredients interacting with the hair fiber. These new ingredients will be intended for applications in makeup, skin care, hair care, and hair coloring.
- Apply your expertise and technical skills to co-development and collaboration.
- Collect, analyze, and validate technical data (Performance, Processes, Green Sciences, Human and Environmental Safety) related to cosmetic ingredients in conjunction with internal teams and suppliers.
- Coordinate strategic cross-functional innovation projects at the interface of external partners, cosmetic businesses (R&I labs), Advanced Research, transversal functions, and Raw Material Procurement, in a multidisciplinary scientific environment.
- Develop and manage the relational strategy with external partners to maximize innovation opportunities – preferably targeting exclusivities and unique solutions for L'Oréal – with short, medium, and long-term deliverables, adapted business models, and working methods.
- You will be responsible for the overall coordination of your platform's actions within the International Innovative Ingredients Department in a collaborative spirit.
Innovate and explore new technologies: The innovative and high-performing cosmetic ingredients of the future are being prepared now. As such, you will be required to:
- Conduct scientific monitoring in your field and beyond to identify subjects for exploration and pioneering.
- Propose and contribute to the exploration of new scientific subjects/territories.
- Interact with L'Oréal teams internationally to build a common strategy.
This position is not within a laboratory, but you will be required to visit and work with all R&I laboratories.
YOU HAVE…
- A Master 2 or PhD in Polymer Chemistry or Physical Chemistry with one or more industrial experiences in these fields.
- A particular interest in technical subjects and scientific innovation.
- You are known for your dynamism, tenacity, and proactivity. You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and pragmatism.
- You possess good interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities.
- You are able to work collaboratively in a team, in a particularly international and multidisciplinary environment.
- You have an aptitude for managing projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, to develop a portfolio of innovative ingredients.
- Rigorous, autonomous, and organized, you are capable of simultaneously managing different projects and generating quality results. While being creative, you possess analytical and synthesis skills and know how to be proactive in proposing solutions.
- You are comfortable communicating in English, both written and oral.
