What you will do:
- Lead the technical strategy for Power BI solutions with performance and scalability in mind.
- Define reusable data models, dataflows, and semantic layers.
- Set/follow governance standards for dashboard quality, performance, and reusability.
- Collaborate with engineers to align data models with business consumption needs.
- Oversee dashboard deployment, refresh automation, and access control.
- Optimize performance through smart modeling and load strategies.
- Support integration with BigQuery and other cloud data sources.
- Coach Power BI developers and ensure consistency in delivery.
- Participate in design forums to align data visualization practices.
- Own the platform experience and reliability of the reporting layer.
What we are looking for:
- Advanced skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and semantic modeling.
- Experience with Power BI Service management and deployment best practices.
- Integration with BigQuery, APIs, and SQL sources.
- UX/UI best practices for dashboard design.
- Ability to mentor and lead technical contributors.
- Strong user experience orientation and visual storytelling mindset.
- Precise, methodical thinker with an eye for long-term maintainability.
- Systematic and scalable thinking.
Years of experience required:
6-9 years in BI/reporting, with 3+ years leading data visualization design and governance.
Tools & Technologies:
- Power BI (Service, Desktop, Premium)
- DAX (advanced), Power Query
- BigQuery connector and DirectQuery setup
- Dataflows, RLS, Row-level security
- Power BI APIs and deployment pipelines (optional)
Technical knowledge / certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate (preferred)
- Strong understanding of semantic layer design
- Experience with performance optimization and visual best practices
- Experience publishing and managing enterprise-level workspaces
