A Day in the Life
As the Learning and Development Manager of SA and SSA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of L’Oréal by cultivating a world-class learning organization. You will lead the strategic direction of learning and development initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a culture of continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with L'Oréal's global HR mission, values, and business objectives.
- Anticipate future capability needs, analyze industry trends, and translate business strategies into impactful learning programs that support L'Oréal’s competitive advantage.
- Partner with senior leadership and HR Business Partners to identify skill gaps, address talent development needs, and ensure the organization is equipped to meet future challenges.
- Manage and optimize the Learning and Development budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact and return on investment.
Program Design and Delivery:
- Design, develop, and deliver innovative and engaging learning solutions across multiple modalities (e.g., digital, classroom, virtual, blended) that cater to diverse learning styles and business needs.
- Curate and manage a portfolio of high-quality learning vendors, external partners, speakers, and educational institutions to deliver impactful programs aligned with L'Oréal’s standards.
- Oversee the design and delivery of the global learning plan, ensuring consistency and relevance across geographies and business units.
- Champion the use of technology and digital learning tools to enhance the learner experience, expand access to development opportunities, and drive engagement.
Talent Development & Culture:
- Lead the development and implementation of succession planning initiatives, identifying and developing high-potential talent to ensure a robust leadership pipeline.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, promoting a growth mindset and empowering employees to take ownership of their career development.
- Design and implement learning journeys for key talent segments and executives, providing tailored development opportunities that accelerate their growth and impact.
- Act as a champion and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all learning and development initiatives, ensuring programs are accessible and inclusive for all employees.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of learning professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Build strong relationships with HR Business Partners, business leaders, and global stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and effective execution of learning initiatives.
- Actively contribute to the global L&D community, sharing best practices, and driving innovation within the function.

- You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record of designing and delivering impactful learning and development programs within complex organizations.
- You have a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and emerging trends in the L&D space.
- You possess strong business acumen, with the ability to translate business objectives into learning strategies that drive results.
- You are a natural leader and collaborator, adept at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and inspiring teams.
- You are passionate about fostering a culture of learning, growth, and inclusion, enabling individuals and teams to reach their full potential.
