Job Title: Education Experience Manager (EEM) – Matrix  

Division: Professional Products Division 

Location: Can reside in any major city within the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin.

What You Will Do: 

This is a critical, top-priority hybrid role that integrates functions of both a Regional Education Manager (REM) and an Education Experience Manager (EEM). The individual will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, budget management, coordination, and execution of all Matrix educational events and Business Link Education (BLE) planning. 

This role specifically targets the sub-market, National Accounts (Region 9), including franchise stores and national accounts within Region 9. The Education Experience Manager (EEM) will develop and deliver customized educational programs, manage key relationships across these specific segments, and ensure the effective planning and coordination of all brand events, experiences, activities, and the execution of in-salon education plans within a defined geographical territory. The EEM role ensures that the level of support is consistently delivered and aligned with Professional Products Division (PPD) and brand standards. 

The Matrix EEM will build strong relationships with education teams in the field, distributor partners, and the corporate office through collaboration on education and business programs, in-salon education to increase market share, and new partner activities. Working closely with the Director of Education (DOE) and all sales partners, the EEM will plan and implement new partner programs and Black Level Salons in their territory. Additionally, the EEM manages logistics and successful execution of education and ticketed events, demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills, a diligent work ethic, flexibility, creative thinking, and the ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere. 

Responsibilities: 

A. Education Management System Administration (approx. 70% of total) 

  • Lead the discussions, planning, and execution of the 'Matrix Salon Education Plans' for all top Black Level, Multi-Platinum Salons and New Partnership Salons to drive sales and increase in-salon market share.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Top Salon Customers in collaboration with PPD Sales Teams to align on joint priorities and reinforce education support to drive results.
  • Fluently speak to the benefits of Matrix education support and adjust the education plan as needed.
  • Responsible for determining the type of class, location, and overall management of brand field-based ticketed programs, including specialty programs with the Saloncentric Education Teams.
  • Work with selected Regional Education Managers (REs) to plan, implement, budget, and coordinate logistics for brand field-based classes, prospecting, and new partnership/conversion programs.
  • Participate in sell-ins and sales meetings as directed.
  • Collaborate with the Saloncentric (SC) Sales and Education team to strategically contract top Artists; ensure bookings and expense reports through the Event Management System.
  • Work with the Director of Education to establish class qualification and artist selection for localized distributor education.

B. Experience and Event Management (approx. 20% of total) 

  • Works closely with the Director of Education, Regional Education Managers, Digital Marketing Managers, and distributors to establish participation.
  • Responsible for budgeting, coordinating, and logistics of Brand distributor shows and events.
  • Works with the Director of Education, VP of Education, and Sales and Distributor partners in planning educational programs to fulfill market needs, meet sales objectives, and support new product launches within their territory.
  • Participate in all corporate events inclusive of Divisional Meetings.
  • Supports brand events and shows as directed.
  • Maintains technical competence under L'Oréal/PPD standards.
  • Attends divisional meetings, sales meetings, and artist trainings as directed.
  • Maintain the Brand Image as defined by the Brand.

C. Regional Budget Oversight (approx. 10% of total) 

  • Manage in-salon educational fuel budgets for submission to the AVP of Education and the Director of Education.
  • Work with the Saloncentric Education team to reconcile and manage budgets monthly.
  • Manage Purchase Orders (POs) for the territory.
  • Manage M43 orders for the territory.

 

 

What We Are Looking For: 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Current licensed cosmetologist with min. 5 years industry experience
  • High School graduate. College graduates a plus. 
  • At least 3-5 years of event planning, education, and/or professional beauty industry experience. Management/supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Platforms, and Salesforce and/or SAP (preferred).
  • Demonstrated passion for education, training and understanding of sales processes and the ability to support sales representatives in achieving their targets.  
  • Excellent communication skills and vendor negotiation experience.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of activity with adaptability to changing demands.
  • Knowledge of business and educational aspects of SalonCentric/State-RDA/Distributor Organization.
  • Understanding of SalonCentric/State-RDA/Distributor educational planning as it relates to class policies, use of field, contract trainers, and event P&L.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and adhere to budgets for all field activity and T&E.
  • Ability to be flexible, be a team player, and accept change. 
  • Must live in designated geographical territory: can reside in any major city within the following states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia Massachusetts, Texas, Tennessee, and Florida please
  • Travel flexibility:  Willingness to travel extensively to conduct classes, attend shows, and support sales activities (minimum 35% overall)
  • Limited travel within the given territory (driving, flying, train, etc)
  • Lifting of promotional materials and products up to 25 pounds, which may also require bending.
