What You Will Do:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Control Director to join our Operations Finance Leadership team.  As the Internal Control Director, you will be responsible for overseeing internal control processes and procedures across our 12 core distribution centers, our 3PLs and fulfillment centers located in the United States and Canada.  Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with company policies, identify and mitigate risks, improve operational efficiency within the Supply Chain function while driving a culture of accountability, integrity and ethical behavior.    

  • Design and Implement Internal Control Roadmap and priorities: Create and implement robust internal control framework, policies, and procedures within Supply Chain Finance, Distribution, transportation, customs, order to cash, master data and forecast to stock across L’Oreal USA and Canada; ensure internal control by design on all projects (with a huge focus on NEO). Benchmark and create best practice sharing and standardization. 
  • Animate Supply Chain internal control team to ensure proper Internal environment; lead monthly meetings with team members; ensure sharing of best practices, lead discussion of internal control issues seen in Supply Chain areas and ensure proper and sustainable resolution.  Develop and train local Internal Controls managers and enforce monthly checklist.
  • Serve as the go-to-person for internal control matters within Supply Chain; partner with other internal control members (ex. Manufacturing, Divisions, sourcing, etc.) to assist in the development of a strong L’Oreal internal control culture and value creation for the business. 
  • Controls Design and Implementation: Develop, lead, and implement effective internal controls to mitigate identified risks, ensure accuracy and completeness of group compliance, best practices implementation for but not limited to; inventory management, destructions, excess and obsolete and order to cash areas. 
  • Drive improvements for the new Warehouse management tool called ODES/Manhattan; ensure proper level of control; enforce proper segregation of duties with User access profiles; check system reconciliation; liaison with ODES COE team and key users to identify issues and work with team to find solutions and drive continuous system improvements.  
  • Liaison with the Head of Transportations Finance and Ops to drive continuous control improvements; lead the transportation audit action plan; review and confirm completion of audit points; help drive continuous improvements in this area; make suggestions for continuous improvement and ensure compliance with Group norms
  • Lead the Fixed Asset count for all DCs; create standardized templates; lead discussion on counts and KPIs; ensure proper completion of count and alignment to Group norm 
  • Ensure proper Inventory controls: enforce monthly stock equation; cycle counts; wall to wall counts and review KPIs with DC Teams
  • Self-Assessment Campaigns: Coordinate the annual SMART self-assessment campaign for each functional areas within Supply Chain.  Ensure timely completion as required by group timeline. Ensure corrective actions are in place prior to validation. Develop zone summary for strategic alignment and improvement across all functional areas. 
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare reports and presentations on internal control compliance and identified risks for Operations management and L’Oreal USA leadership. Ensure local Supply Chain topics in a standardized, timely and impactful.  
  • Coordinate with both internal audit and external audit on ad hoc requests or analysis; lead Supply Chain audits and ensure follow up of action plan; manage E&Y requests and ad hoc analysis; work with E&Y to ensure submission of required documents meet deadlines and help explain key issues.  
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness sessions to relevant personnel on LUSA policies and norms and company procedures.

  • 7-10 years of Finance Experience
  • Proven leadership ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP preferred
