Job Description:

This position will maximize team development to drive overall sales at the counter.  Counter manager is responsible for: managing the team’s department ranking, executing promotional activities and events, training and motivating staff, maintaining the Customer Registry Program, and participating in outreach programs. 

  • Continuous evaluation and awareness of Daily Business Record.  Develop coaching for staff based on information learned from DBR.  Check FLASH report intermittently to see  BA status toward daily goal.
  • Work with Training Manager on AUS/IPT development along with skincare penetration goal.
  • Set up appointment book with event dates, times and goals.  Communicate event details and goals to each staff member.  Track performance and coach to the needs of each staff member.
  • Maintain and oversee clean and organized counter operation.  Ensure drawers, cabinets are neat, clean, organized and filled with stock and rotation of stock.  Ensure display units are updated and clean and out of stock and push lists are maintained on a daily/weekly basis. Delegate boutique maintenance-stocking of drawers, cleanliness, inclusive of testers and grids.
  • Communicate goals to each and every BA or Freelancer.  Observe selling interaction of all staff members and provide effective feedback for improvement.  Reinforce training and conduct impromptu role plays and practice sessions.  Distribute and monitor goals (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).  Constantly strive to build relationships with inter-sell sales associates.
  • Gather team in the morning to share success stories, acknowledge top performer of previous day.
  • Consistently encourage and motivate staff to register and maintain active client list.  Ensure daily client calls and follow up activities are happening for all staff members.  Act as a role model and develop a client book and use the sample log to perfection.
  • Maintain daily communication with Department Manager.  Communicate challenges,
  • Success stories and all pertinent information.  Have full awareness of store activities,                   regulations and policies.  Establish relationships with key departments (personal shopper
  • Bridal, director of special events, visual).  Participate in all store meetings.
  • Review any new marketing or education bulletins and share concepts with team
  • Work with BM and AE to ensure stock levels for upcoming events
  • Help set-up and/or take-down  for event
  • Maintain active list of freelance staff.  Have awareness of star, quality candidates in the marketplace.
  • Explore possible relationships with outside corporations/organizations for outreach programs.  Schedule and orchestrate mini training and educational seminars with outreach program contacts.  Arrange and organize all materials and staff needed for presentation.

 

What We Are Looking For:

- Minimum of 2 years as a Manager of a counter or single store location in a luxury or beauty retail environment

- Must have demonstrated strength of both operational management and people management

- 3-5 years of clientele development experience in working as or with professional sales associates

- Computer proficiency in OUTLOOK, WORD and EXCEL

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Reliable, dependable and punctual

- Entrepreneurial, self starter, and self motivated

 

Essential Physical Requirements

- Ability to walk up/down a flight of stairs numerous times throughout their shift

- Standing & walking is required 90% of the time

- Ability to use a ladder and step ladder

- Ability to stoop, bend and squat so as to clean and stock the Sales Floor, non-sales area(s) and off site stock room (if applicable)

Hourly Range: $37 - $41/hour (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
