Within the L'Oréal for the Future direction, the Environmental Sciences and Eco-design Strategy department undertakes various missions to improve the understanding and consideration of the environmental impact of cosmetic products, aid in the eco-design of these products, and develop evaluation methods.


We are looking for an experienced Life Cycle Analysis Engineer.


You will:

- Develop and manage a portfolio of operational projects to analyze the environmental impact of ingredients, raw materials, formulations, or finished products (formula and packaging) using Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).

- Act as the interface between various Group entities (R&I, Industry, Purchasing, Communication) and external stakeholders (Suppliers, external experts).

- Ensure operational coordination, as well as analysis and presentation of results on these projects.

- Contribute to LCAs of subcontracted formulations or finished products for eco-design purposes or environmental claims, bringing technical expertise and critical analysis of results.

- Manage databases characterizing the environmental impacts of ingredients and raw materials in our portfolio.

- Ensure data quality and availability for the proper functioning of the Group's product eco-design tools.

- Contribute to scientific monitoring and the evaluation and development of new LCA approaches or methods.

- Represent the Group at scientific congresses and in technical working groups at the national and international levels.


You have:

- A Master's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Agronomy.

- Professional experience of 3 years in conducting LCAs on chemical products and project management in this field.

- Experience in leading technical working groups.

- Interest in the environment and sustainable development.

- Knowledge and operational practice of LCA methods, impact analysis, and dedicated software (preferably SimaPro).

- Knowledge of LCA applications for regulatory or sustainable development purposes, coupled with a good understanding of national and international issues, particularly within the European Community.

- Organizational, development, and project management skills - related to the diversity of situations and contexts.

- Leadership in leading working groups and advocating for L'Oréal's interests externally.

- Fluent in English.
