As a strategic partner in innovation, the Cognitive & Sensory Evaluation team contributes to innovations by focusing on their sensory appeal. The department characterizes products holistically and objectively (texture, appearance, scent, packaging), provides proof of their performance, describes consumer perceptions, justifies sensory claims, and ultimately, produces strategic knowledge.
We collaborate with laboratories, operations, and marketing, helping them make decisions and identify how to optimize future launches and renovations of skincare, makeup, hygiene, fine fragrance, and hair care products.
You will report to the Pack/Perfume/Hygiene/Skin Cleansing Division.
Your main responsibilities are:

- You will develop in-depth packaging knowledge by compiling and analyzing data collected transversally by your department and other teams.
- You will support local teams (primarily in China and the US) in developing their expertise in the sensory evaluation of materials, packaging, and dispensing systems, as well as in setting up sensory panels in these two countries.
And transversally for the Cognitive & Sensory Evaluation Team:
- You will contribute to the development of sensory evaluation methods to ensure we always use the best approach and stay up-to-date with technological advancements and future consumer needs.
- You will help establish links between our sensory data (texture, fragrance, packaging) and other types of data (cognitive, consumer, technical) through more advanced statistical analyses to help our researchers propose relevant innovations with a reduced time to market.
- You will contribute to more complex transversal projects integrating Cognitive Sciences in the objective characterization of experience to better decode our innovations.
- You will contribute to dedicated taskforces on transversal projects (Digitalization, Data, Quality).
Your assets for success:
- Master's degree, or business school, engineering, or food science diploma specializing in Sensory Studies. A specialization in statistics would be a plus.
- Successful experience of 2 to 5 years in the field of sensory analysis. You are proficient in different types of sensory tests, panel management, and statistical analysis of test results (simple and multidimensional analyses). Experience in packaging sensory evaluation would be a plus.
- You are able to step back, question, and understand strategically important topics in order to find the right solutions.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills. You know how to build and maintain trusting relationships with your team and partners.
- You are comfortable speaking in public and know how to structure and present your message to maximize your impact.
- Autonomy and rigor, ease in managing multiple projects.
