Within the Ingredient Invention Department (D2I) of Advanced Research, you will join the Transversal Performance Evaluation Platform, and more specifically the Optical Characterization Laboratory (LCO), on a one-year fixed-term contract starting in January 2025. Your role will be to contribute to the evaluation and understanding of the optical and sensory properties of cosmetic fillers within our innovation portfolio.
The laboratory's objective is to facilitate the transformation of raw materials/systems, ultimately leading to the launch of new, differentiating products on the market. You will therefore be at the interface of a rich, international, and highly multidisciplinary ecosystem, from the group's most upstream research to cosmetic applications such as photoprotection and skincare. You will forge strong links with other transversal teams in Physical Chemistry, Processes, Digital, Analysis, and other performance evaluation entities.
All the missions and skills listed below will be adjusted according to the candidate's profile (education, experience, etc.). Possessing all listed competencies is not a prerequisite for the position.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Incorporating these fillers into formulas and monitoring their stability.
- Evaluating the optical properties of our fillers in certain formulation bases (Coverage, shine, color).
- Contributing to the development of methods for evaluating the sensory properties of these fillers, both alone and incorporated into these bases (hardness, rheology, friction tests, adhesion, vibration, etc.).
- Proposing complementary physicochemical characterizations when necessary to further the understanding of our portfolio.
- Ensuring the repeatability and reproducibility of the methods used and the reliability/relevance of the results obtained.
- Managing the generated data, database entry, traceability of results, and data exploitation using digital tools.
- Contributing to the technical, administrative, functional, and safety activities of the laboratory.
- Writing reports and presenting results.
Your assets for success:
- Master's degree/Engineering degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Formulation, or Physical Measurements.
- A strong interest in technical subjects, particularly in experimentation, evaluation, development of measurement methods, formulation, and physicochemical characterization.
- Proficiency in the use of digital tools (data processing, databases, etc.).
- Prior experience in material characterization and/or cosmetic measurements, and/or formulation would be a plus.
- Comfortable with English.
- You are known for your dynamism, tenacity, and proactivity. You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and pragmatism.
- You have good interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities.
- You can apply to up to three jobs within a rolling 30-day window.
- You cannot withdraw your application once you applied, so please make sure to choose a job that matches your dreams.
