Within the Biopolymers, Textures & Coating Materials ingredient category, we are seeking a Research Engineer (M/F) to support our laboratory work focusing on thickeners.


Contract Type: 6-month fixed-term 

contract Location: Aulnay-sous-Bois, France 

Start Date: January 2025


Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews and analyze the state of the art regarding pre-identified innovative ingredient combinations (publications/patents, internal documentation).
  • Test new ingredients or new ingredient combinations (e.g., texturizing polymers) in the pre-formulation laboratory (Aulnay).
  • Characterize the functional properties of the gels formed: suspending power, emulsifying capacity, stability, and initial sensory properties in partnership with the DI SPF in Chevilly.
  • Manage generated data, database entry, result traceability, and data analysis using digital tools.
  • Summarize results in presentations/reports for the project team.


Your Assets for Success:

  • Master's degree/Engineering degree in Chemistry: Physical Chemistry, Formulation, Polymers.
  • Technical skills and good laboratory practices, including basic and/or advanced knowledge of formulation and emulsification techniques, preferably with prior experience in pre-formulation or formulation.
  • Knowledge of the chemistry and physical chemistry of dispersed systems, analysis, and characterization, particularly rheology.
  • Curiosity, scientific rigor, data and literature analysis skills, communication skills, critical thinking, and a desire for teamwork.
