What You Will Do: 

This position will report to the Head of Sustainability & Social Impact for PPD American Brands. This position will play a key role in shaping the sustainability and social impact vision and strategy (L’Oréal for the Future) across all American Brands within the Professional Products Division (PPD). 

This role is central to manage the rollout and monitoring of our current roadmap as well as in adapting it to new regulation, the latest sustainability science and market trends.  

This role sits within the Global Brand Management team, known internally as DMI (Direction de Marque International) and will help shape the upcoming launches of the PPD American Brands. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support in driving the ambitious 2030 sustainability vision and strategy for the brands, under the leadership of the Head of Sustainability & Social Impact for American Brands, and in collaboration with all key stakeholders (brands, product development, research and innovation, packaging, corporate sustainability, claims, etc.).
  • Help develop a clear roadmap with yearly milestones in alignment with the Groupe’s top sustainability priorities, based on each brands’ product assortment, sustainability scorecard and key material topics.
  • Coordinate sustainability data collection and organization to support the advancement of brand roadmaps and for key leadership presentations.
  • Work closely with L’Oréal’s Product Development and Research & Innovation teams to further advance on our product eco-design efforts for both packaging and formula; and to develop disruptive sustainable innovations.
  • Ensure brand roadmaps are aligned with the L’Oréal Groupe’s top sustainability priorities, including its Net Zero commitment and SBTi targets.
  • Provide support in reporting on our brands’ progress to the Corporate Responsibility team and yearly target setting and monitoring by brand. 
  • Lead the development and substantiation of sustainability claims.
  • Act as an internal sustainability expert, engaging and upskilling all key internal stakeholders and setting up strategic, new ways of working when needed.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the sustainability landscape (legislation, frameworks, consumer trends, innovations, etc.) to ensure brands remain at the cutting edge of sustainability.
  • In collaboration with the brands’ content teams, build an external communication plan and engagement strategy to raise awareness about brands’ sustainability vision and strategy.
  • Support in deploying the brands’ social impact strategy (brand causes), together with the brands Communications and Digital teams and the Brand Leads.

 

What We Are Looking For:

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ Years Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated professional experience required in one or more of the following fields: sustainability, product development, packaging, research and innovation
  • Expertise in sustainability 
  • Strong project management competencies
  • Experience in marketing and claims is a plus
  • A strong passion for sustainability and social impact required
  • Leadership skills to drive cooperation across internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • Information and data management
  • Quantitative data analysis skills
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency 
  • Prioritization and organization skills
  • Demonstrated L’Oréal competencies: Leadership, Entrepreneurial Management, Strategist, and Innovator
  • Appreciation for our business and sensitivity to the beauty métier

  • Salary Range: $138,500 - $200,800 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
