The E-Commerce and Channel Development team at L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) drives digital growth across key retail partners, including Walmart, Target, and Ulta. We work across commercial and brand teams, retailers, and third-party partners to create compelling online shopping experiences, develop new growth opportunities, and strengthen our brands’ presence across the digital shelf.
The Opportunity & Your Impact
As the Channel Development Lead, you will focus on generating traffic and improving the path to purchase across retailer e-commerce platforms. You will develop retailer and third-party partnerships, lead digital merchandising and shopper-experience initiatives, and coordinate emerging channel opportunities. You’ll connect retailer capabilities and shopper needs with LDB’s commercial priorities, while working closely with account teams and cross-functional partners to support online growth.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Retailer & Third-Party Partnerships: Develop relationships with retailer site-merchandising teams, vendors, and third-party partners to advance strategic collaborations, category shifts, events, and channel growth.
- Digital Merchandising & Shopper Experience: Work with retailers and internal partners to implement digital services, site stories, content proposals, and broader digital merchandising and UX initiatives.
- Traffic & Path-to-Purchase Initiatives: Identify opportunities to support online traffic and improve the path to purchase, including online events, retailer activations, and other channel-specific initiatives.
- eAssortment, Bundling & Basket Building: Develop e-assortment and bundling opportunities, including virtual bundles, routine builders, and other digital experiences designed to support basket building.
- Emerging Channel Coordination: Coordinate the operational components of emerging platforms and services, including TTS, Instacart, Shipt, and DoorDash, as applicable.
- TTS Business Coordination: Manage TTS business activities, including assortment strategy, sales projections, and vendor and affiliate coordination.
- Hero Product Strategy: Define and maintain the online Hero product approach, coordinating with Sales and Trade Marketing to support product visibility and performance.
- Medical Advocacy: Partner with Medical and other internal teams to ensure relevant medical needs are accurately communicated and addressed throughout the retailer ecosystem.
- Online Performance & Shopper Insights: Work with internal partners to surface themes from shopper reviews and escalate significant customer-service issues for appropriate follow-up.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Commercial Strategy, customer teams, Marketing, Category Development, Medical, CDMO/CDAO, and other relevant teams to align initiatives and
support execution.
- Omnichannel Activation Coordination: Coordinate with Trade Marketing and Customer Marketing teammates to align plans and execution across online and offline channels, supporting synchronized retailer activations and a consistent shopper experience.
- Insights & Media Partnership: Partner with Category Development to apply category and shopper insights, and coordinate with Media teams to connect retailer partnerships, digital merchandising, and activation plans with relevant media opportunities.
Background & Experience Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, E-Commerce, Commercial Strategy, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, channel development, or commercial strategy within an FMCG/CPG environment.
- Experience working with retail partners, digital merchandising, e-commerce activations, or third-party platforms is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Comfort using e-commerce analytics and retailer tools.
- Ability to use business and shopper insights to develop practical recommendations and coordinate execution across teams.
Salary range: $98K-$140K
