Sales Director – L'Oréal Luxe

As a brand Sales Director, you will have full ownership of the L’Oreal Designer Fragrances commercial P+L managing 10 very different brands across a number of major customers. Your primary focus is on the long term commercial strategy working on 12 month+ lead time, as well as guiding your sales team to deliver the immediate Retail Sell-Out, Market Share, Net Sales & Profit targets.  Your role is market share centric with 70% of your time being externally focused (40% client facing and 30% L’Oréal senior stakeholder management and retailer strategy).  The remainder of your remit is to lead and develop your sales team to deliver the best commercial outcome for the 10 fragrance & 1 Make Up brands.

Develop the brand business strategy; defining priorities by customers/distribution channels, taking ownership for the P&L per customer.

Retailer / Stakeholder Relationships

Leverage customer insights to maximize commercial opportunities within a widely diverse retail landscape.
Build partnerships and develop retailer centric strategies online/in store to drive profitable growth.
Partner with the brands and corporate supply chain, finance, marketing and retail to deliver success on all retail activations (Launches, Price Promotions, extra visibility).
Develop trusting relationships with key customers. Collaborate with other brands within the division to develop the overarching market share of L’Oreal LUXE.
Lead the brand retail transformation working closely with the General Manager and Retail/Education director.

Business Acumen

Be fully accountable for brand P&L; ensure delivery on or above target for total brand.
Review 6-12 month horizon, flagging any forthcoming potential challenges and identifying solutions.
Work with your team to identify and mitigate any short term risks.
Build annual plans to grow Market Share, Net Sales & Profit.
Manage and arbitrate commercial budgets (Retailer Co-op investment and price promotion investments) and allocate resources to drive profitable growth.
Negotiate commercial annual agreements and guarantee the interests of not only the fragrances division but also for L’Oreal Luxe.

Retail development

Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of retailers, customers, consumers & competitors.
Collaborate with all types of retailers including fragrance and Farmacy stores, department stores and Pure players, alongside driving growth on our own D2C sites.
Develop and execute Joint Business Plans with key retailers.

Team Leadership

Validate sales teams priorities and targets and ensure alignment with brand commercial strategy.
Motivate, recruit, develop and manage the commercial team; ensuring the development of their expertise and know-how.
Develop individuals to strengthen commercial, management skills and capabilities to ensure longevity in roles and succession within team.
Project lead and implement organisational changes.
Manage a team of 10 directly including but not limited to Senior/National Account Managers, an eBusiness Manager and a National Sales Manager, Management Trainee and interns.

Alongside experience in a similar role and excellent leadership & communication skills, you should be confident demonstrating all of the following:
