In the department of Hair Development, we are looking for a formulator in the hair care team. The objective of this position is to work on hair launch projects and quick innovation projects to supplement our products portfolios on market.

As a formulator, your main responsibilities are : 


  • Help create and ensure the prompt availability of quality products for businesses that are safe and effective, suitable for mass production, and in line with the brand/category innovation strategy
  • Ensure launch commitments are met with regard to lead times and costs.
  • Ensure the quality, safety and performance of formulas 
  • Integrate and develop innovative technologies that offer results the consumer can perceive
  • Propose and develop formulas in line with the marketing policy and consumer expectations
  • Officialise formulas in a prompt manner by coordinating and validating all development phases and providing updates on formula availability
  • Provide monitoring (scientific, technological, patent, evaluation, etc.) and contribute to safeguarding L’Oréal intellectual property
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations within the laboratory
  • Emphasise the value of technologies to businesses through strong product pitches; where necessary, help improve the relevance and conformity of communication on technical and regulatory matters in line with L’Oréal procedures and positioning



To succeed in this position, you have :


  • Master in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related scientific discipline 
  • 3-5 years of work experience in FMCG Hair or skin category or RM supplier
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously and can work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills.
  • Fluent in English (and ideally in Japanese) 
  • Proactive thinking ability, problem-solving, and project management skills
