WHO WE ARE
For over a century, L'Oréal has been dedicated to "Creating beauty that moves the world". Today we are the #1 world leader in the sector with consolidated sales of several billion Euros. Our team across the globe solve complex challenges while remaining committed to making the world a more inclusive and better place for our people and planet.
THE TEAM
L'Oréal's Travel Retail is also known as the "6th continent". A continent without borders with the world's largest airports as capitals, populated by cosmopolitan inhabitants with different styles, budgets and needs.
For these travelers called "global shoppers", shopping is an integral part of the trip. They shop anywhere, anytime, and are always excited to kill time by exploring the new products on offer in the departures hall.
While it is present in duty-free shops in city centres, on board planes, on cruise ships and in border shops, Travel Retail is mainly invading airports, which make more than 50% of its total sales.
THE MISSION
Within an international environment, and collaborating with three Travel Retail subsidiaries (Europe, Americas, Asia) and multiple divisions, this role involves managing a portfolio of Travel Retail Exclusives (TREX) within Operations. Acting as a business partner, the TREX Project Manager maintains a global vision of the finished product (packaging, conditioning process, etc.), ensures adherence to brand commitments, and assumes overall project responsibility (Time-to-Market, gross margin, L4TF, perceived value, innovation, quality).
Key Responsibilities include:
- Launch Planning: Guide brands in developing launch plans, incorporating profitability, anticipation, Time-to-Market (TTM), quality, and L4TF considerations, while maintaining a global, multi-zone perspective.
- Market Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the market and competition through a category management approach.
- Innovation Champion: Promote and transform product innovation projects with brands, collaborating closely with the Operations Innovation department.
- L4TF Roadmap: Challenge and collaborate with brands to build and monitor L4TF roadmaps.
- Feasibility Studies: Analyze the feasibility of new briefs, advising marketing and offering optimized solutions (packaging, process) with a consumer-centric and value-driven approach.
- Design-to-Value: Contribute to the "design-to-value" approach by proposing relevant value analysis actions (packaging, process) and deploying approved initiatives.
- Brief Translation: Formalize and validate the technical translation of the marketing brief, adhering to the Quality Control Plan (QCP) system, including validation and monitoring of commercial agreements.
- Risk Management: Implement and conduct product risk analyses when necessary.
- Budgeting & Planning: Prepare, disseminate, and track estimated budgets and preliminary sales forecasts (PRIE/PVISE). Challenge gross margins and raise alerts for projects with potential dilution. Develop, distribute, and monitor project schedules.
- Data Management: Ensure regular updates to the Magellan system and compliance with established workflows.
- Stakeholder Management: Mobilize various project stakeholders and necessary experts, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Communication: Communicate project progress regularly, alerting stakeholders to any deviations (definition, planning, pricing, L4TF commitments), and proposing solutions.
- Quality Control: Contribute to product quality control by adhering to the quality system and addressing corrective actions.
- Information Systems: Integrate project data into information systems (Magellan, Tag, Elixpedia, and eventually Minds), ensuring data accuracy and updates throughout the product design lifecycle.
