Business Partner – Procurement

The role of Business Partner – buyer is the primary contact for internal stakeholders regarding operational projects and ad-hoc purchases (indirect - services). The main objective is to optimize costs and quality, ensure expected service levels, and improve or maintain compliance with L'Oréal's procurement processes and strategies.

Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of this exciting opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a collaborative spirit as a true Business Partner: You will be essential in understanding internal client expectations and proactively anticipating their operational project needs. Regularly sharing business information within the Sourcing team is also a key element in fostering this collaborative environment.
  • Support internal clients with their purchasing needs: As the preferred operational point of contact, you will guide internal clients through daily support, answer questions regarding purchasing categories, assist them with purchase orders and/or shopping carts, and help them navigate the purchasing platform. This involves challenging briefs to ensure clarity, translating needs into supplier specifications, launching tenders, and negotiating prices, quality, and deadlines.
  • Manage supplier relationships (SRM): You will oversee daily supplier relationships, monitoring their performance, quality, and deliveries. This data will be crucial for supplier scorecards and upcoming business reviews. You will also be responsible for keeping supplier information, contacts, contracts, and compliance documents up to date on various internal platforms.
  • Support compliance and increase coverage: A significant part of this role involves analyzing purchasing platform data to identify opportunities for improving Procurement coverage. This could include optimizing ordering channels, updating documentation, training internal clients on best practices, and promoting the use of catalogues and preferred supplier lists. You will also be responsible for managing data and KPIs for the purchasing platform.
  • Contribute to our global sustainability goals: L'Oréal places a strong emphasis on sustainability. In this role, you will contribute by staying informed about initiatives that reduce environmental footprint, strengthening supplier commitments to welcome candidates from disadvantaged communities (supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and acting as a spokesperson for L'Oréal's sustainable actions, ensuring effective communication of commitments to consumers and partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree. While no specific number of years of experience is required (in line with L'Oréal's best practices for attracting a diverse pool of candidates), strong professional skills are essential. These include:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Strong coordination and cooperation skills
  • Proficiency in problem-solving
  • A proactive mindset
  • Good analytical skills
  • Autonomy and ability to simplify complex projects
  • Agility
  • Project management skills
  • French and Advanced English for communications required with International stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices

Team Environment:

You will report directly to the Category Manager and be part of the Procurement team. This is not a management role, but it involves significant cross-functional collaboration with other Business Partners and the Business Services Category Manager.
