This apprenticeship sits within the Human Resources department, specifically supporting Physical Distribution (Warehousing/Logistics) and wider Operations community reports to the Head of HR for this area. The team structure includes HR Business Partners who work directly with the warehouse community across three distribution centres and Head office population. While the apprentice will primarily focus on these centres, becoming a trusted advisor for employee engagement and development, they'll also be part of a larger corporate HR team and have opportunities to support Operations beyond just Physical Distribution. 


This apprenticeship offers a dynamic entry point into the world of Human Resources, focusing on enhancing the employee experience within L'Oréal's Physical Distribution network. The key objective is to support the HR team in driving a transformative change journey, focusing on upskilling, development, and ensuring a smooth transition for employees. This provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and system and process management.

Confidentiality & Data Protection: HR deals with highly sensitive personal data. Understanding and adhering to data protection regulations (like GDPR) and maintaining strict confidentiality is paramount.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: This includes both written and verbal communication, active listening, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with colleagues and external contacts. Clear and concise communication is crucial in HR, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.
• Organisation & Time Management: HR involves juggling multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and efficient time management are vital for staying on top of responsibilities and meeting deadlines. This also includes meticulous record-keeping.

You will also have the opportunity to develop:

• Basic Understanding of Employment Law & HR Principles: While not always a pre-requisite, having a basic understanding of employment law, HR policies, and procedures gives apprentices a head start and demonstrates a genuine interest in the field.
• IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), HR software, and other relevant digital tools is essential in today's HR landscape. Strong data entry and analysis skills are also beneficial.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: HR often involves analysing situations, identifying problems, and finding solutions. Developing these analytical and problem-solving skills is highly valuable.
• Adaptability & Resilience: The HR field is constantly evolving. Being adaptable to change, resilient in the face of challenges, and maintaining a positive attitude are important traits.


Eligibility... 

  • You must NOT have already obtained a degree
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Have GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C (4, or equivalent)
  • Have achieved a BBC at A level or equivalent in International baccalaureate or other courses.
