What will you do?
Our Legal Counsel works at the heart of a busy and well-respected award-winning legal team, liaising with the regional legal team of the L’Oréal SAPMENA Zone (South Asia-Pacific Middle East North Africa), as well as the international legal function based in Paris. Reporting to the General Counsel for L’Oréal MYSG, the Legal Counsel is responsible for developing a strong understanding of L’Oréal’s businesses, and providing timely, accurate and legally compliant advice to the various divisions and functions. Our lawyers work with colleagues from all areas of the business, including in information technology, data privacy, commercial, digital, media, ecommerce, retail, marketing, purchasing, finance, market research, consumer advisory and communications.
This is a 12-months contract position, renewable yearly (subject to performance).
You are expected to manage the following:
- Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting all types of contracts and legal documents
- Advising the operational and functional departments in all areas of law (commercial, competition, data privacy, corporate, communications, real estate, information technology & intellectual property)
- Provide training and/or empower business with the learning to increase and ensure awareness and appropriate compliance with internal policy and relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintaining the existing high profile of the legal team throughout the business and active legal involvement in operational decision making
- Liaising with counterparts in the Paris-based headquarters and Zone legal team
Who are we looking for?
- Qualified lawyer, possess a Bachelor of Laws degree.
- Minimum 6 years PQE
- Strong demonstrable and relevant track record of advising on legal issues.
- Excellent communication (written and spoken), negotiation and presentational skills.
- Strategic thinker with ability to move effortlessly between strategy, implementation, and tactical opportunities.
- Ability to establish, exploit and influence effective networks at all levels.
- Confident and persuasive individual capable of managing and resolving difficult situations.
- IT savvy and open to usage of legal technology and applications.
- Demonstrates creativity and open to explore new ways of working such as embracing legal technology in day-to-day tasks.
