POSITION TITLE:  Director Data Excellence Project Management and Continuous Improvement  

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Supply Chain 




L’Oréal is creating a data-driven competitive advantage through solid foundations and use cases at scale. Master Data is the foundation of this strategy.  

This position is responsible for management of new Master Data Projects as well as Continuous Improvement Projects across L’Oréal USA.  This will include ensuring that each project will be managed using the best practice of project management (business case, diagnostics, design approval, timeline, RACI and budget).  The position will be responsible for recurring status updates to sponsors including risk assessments.  This position will evaluate and provide assessments of new projects with respect to impacts on master data and network. This role will be managing a team covering Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Incident Management, SC Planning and SC Network Master Data. 



  • Partner with leaders from the business and supply chain to understand their needs, deliver business value, and establish clear objectives, goals, and ROI for all projects. 

  • Lead/participate in ongoing efforts to modernize, optimize and simplify our systems and processes by providing thought leadership, incorporating best practices, and developing standards of master data and its integration across dependent systems, warehouses and data marts.   

  • As the PMO, work in collaboration with cross-functional business partners and IT peers in delivering projects on time and within budget. Lead and participate in Steering Committees. 

  • Oversee the execution of IT tasks on achievements and ensure conversion of IT systems to established standards, engaging continuous improvement effort. 

  • Mix of projects both Global requirements and Local enhancements. E.g. Acquisitions, new systems, master data enhancements, etc.  

  • Drive Continuous Improvement through process definition, simplification in ways of working and providing the Data Quality team areas of focus for training.  

  • Supervise the SC Planning and SC Network Master Data function.  This role defines, configures and monitors the master data attributes that process demand into supply output throughout the L’Oreal USA integrated systems landscape. Network Master Data involves the ongoing evaluation of recurring network model changes within our supply chain 

  • Partner with IT to Design and Implement an Incident Management function which manages and resolves Product Master Data incidents cross domain. Use of analytics and reporting to uncover areas of opportunity.  

  • Build and manage a high performing team thru hiring, coaching, training, prioritizing and developing people and process. 

  • Coordinate with and support KISS project team as needed.  



  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Systems or related field required 

  • 10+ years of demonstrated Supply Chain Management experience 

  • Minimum 3 years of Master Data Management process development and process experience in a data-intensive consumer goods or retail company. 

  • Experience in leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams with at history of building highly engaged teams delivering best in class results 

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all the main project management concepts, tools and techniques. 

  • Ability to manage up, cross functionally to influence stakeholder alignment and engagement. 

  • Financial acumen to understand and articulate investments vs. ROI  

  • Ability to translate user requirements into functional specifications and systems design as it pertains to master data elements. 

  • Prior experience leading MD Process &/or System Implementation projects is preferred 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong knowledge with SAP ECC, SAP APO and MDM tools (Elixpedia, DPM, and Power BI/Data Visualization).
