Join our Worldwide Safety Evaluation (WSE) team as a Senior Safety Assessor and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the beauty products loved by millions around the globe. Based in our modern and agile Clichy, France office, you will collaborate with a diverse team of experts across France, the US, and China, working closely with Regulatory, Claim Substantiation, and Microbiology teams. Together, you'll ensure the safety of innovative beauty products developed by our industry-leading Research and Innovation organization.
Make a Global Impact:
Lead the Way in Safety Assessment: Explore and implement New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) such as in silico, in vitro, read across combining existing in vivo data to identify potential hazards related to our ingredients. Evaluate the risks based on available data and using Next-Generation Risk Assessment (NGRA). Define and implement in vitro and clinical testing programs for raw materials and formulas as needed.
Collaborate & Innovate: Partner closely with our Research and Innovation labs and stakeholders to assess innovative ingredients and future products, well beyond traditional cosmetic products and including packaging.
Navigate complex Regulatory Landscapes: Generate regulatory documentation and address post-marketing challenges. Develop innovative safety strategies and contribute to ingredient defense dossier considering international regulations, product innovations, and environmental factors in a dynamic and competitive market.
Stay at the Forefront of Science: Monitor toxicological and scientific literature, expanding your expertise and knowledge base. Be involved in the development and implementation of NAMs and NGRA for cosmetic ingredient safety.
Be a L'Oréal Ambassador: Represent L'Oréal at scientific organizations, workshops, and industry task forces, advocating for our safety standards on a global scale.
Qualifications:
PhD and/or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (toxicology, chemistry, biology, etc.).
Minimum 8 years of experience in toxicology, including experience as a safety assessor in industry (chemicals, biocides, medical devices, cosmetics, food, etc.) and/or regulatory agencies. Experience across multiple sectors is a plus.
Fluent in English.
