POSITION SUMMARY:
This key role within the Financial department of R&I métiers requires a versatile profile combining solid expertise in management control and proven mastery of data analysis techniques. The Senior Finance Controller will be primarily responsible for ensuring the financial management and performance of R&I projects, by providing relevant financial analyses and data-driven insights. They will work closely with R&I operational and financial teams to identify optimization levers, improve processes, and steer performance, translating raw data into strategic decision-making information.
Key Responsibilities:
• R&I Financial Controlling Projects: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for R&I projects, identifying discrepancies and proposing corrective actions. Prepare and present regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to management, highlighting trends and project performance. Actively participate in budget construction and forecasting for R&I projects. Analyze project costs, optimise expenses and propose solutions to improve efficiency. Collaborate with R&I project teams to optimize financial management and resource allocation.
• Support for Strategic Decision-Making: Provide financial analyses and data to inform strategic decisions regarding investment and new product development. Participate in the economic evaluation of new R&I projects.
• Data Analysis and Business Intelligence: Extract, clean, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources (R&I databases, information systems, etc.). Develop and maintain performance dashboards for R&I projects, using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Identify trends and strategic insights from data, using statistical and predictive analysis techniques. Apply forecasting methods to improve anticipation of needs and costs. Create predictive models to optimize resource allocation and strategic decision-making in R&I. Visualize and communicate analysis results to stakeholders (project teams, finance direction, R&I direction ).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent, specialising in Finance, Financial Control, or Data Science.
• Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in financial control, ideally in an R&D environment or a large group.
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R). Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
• Strong skills in data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics, and modelling.
• Excellent analytical, synthesis, written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a team and interact effectively with different stakeholders (researchers, engineers, finance professionals).
• Fluency in French and English.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in the cosmetics or consumer goods industry.
• Knowledge of financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan).
• Project management experience.
