IP & LEGAL COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE

Missions:

1. Monitor competitors’ products
   1. Identify competitors’ products that may infringe L’Oréal patents.
   2. Build cases, covering patent validity and infringement, business insight, infringer profile, and retaliation risk, in strong interaction with relevant L’Oréal departments (IP, Lab, Analytical, DMI, Legal, etc.)
   3. Work with IP teams to define relevant action plan and, after obtaining required internal clearances, activate the action plan, possibly in court, through external law firms and local L’Oréal legal counsels.
   4. Maintain the relevant dashboard and internal reporting.

2. Build organizational knowledge of the patent environment

a. Provide tools to monitor the competitive patent landscape.

b. Keep patent analytics tools up to date and high quality, in line with internal roadmaps.

c. Improve patent analytics processes, including new approaches and AI-driven solutions.

d. Train internal teams regularly on tool usage.

3. Provide strategic insights on the patent environment

a. Conduct strategic patent environment studies for internal customers, including upper management, hubs, and OI.

b. Retrieve, manage, and organize data with high standards of quality and traceability.

c.Analyze data to develop strategic insights and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
