Who am I?
As public affairs manager you will work in our Europe’s public affairs team based in Brussels and report to the VP Public Affairs, Europe.
You will work as part of a team to develop and execute business-relevant advocacy strategies on our key priority issues, around sustainability, chemicals and cosmetics legislation, and digital market issues, among others.
Your key responsibilities
- You will track relevant legislative and political developments and provide intelligence and advice to the business on the impact of those developments.
- You will leverage information and data to keep an updated view of key stakeholders positionings, needs, evolutions
- Your role will be key in adapting technical positions into accessible and compelling messages for an audience of politicians and policymakers, as well as draft policy briefings and internal reports for a business audience. This will include producing advocacy toolkits, infographics, and briefings
- You will develop all key assets (presentations, position papers, briefings...) in collaboration with internal experts and other stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate has
- 5+ years’ experience of working in EU public affairs, ideally with some time spent in a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy, serving blue-chip clients.
- Excellent knowledge of the EU decision-making process, policies and the dynamics of EU policymaking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of French is an asset.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.
- Experience in forging collaborative working relationships with relevant external and internal stakeholders.
- A dynamic team-player, willing to take initiative with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who pro-actively works across different functions to achieve our goals.
