We are looking for a MLOps Lead to help ModiFace innovate and revolutionize the beauty industry. You will work with bright and insightful minds, passionate professionals, and a welcoming community where your creative ideas are exceedingly valued.
What You’ll Do
As an MLOps Team Lead, you will be responsible for guiding and empowering a team of talented MLOps Engineers to build, deploy, and manage our cutting-edge machine learning and Generative AI systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and Mentor: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of MLOps engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
- Architecting the ML Lifecycle & Productionization: Drive the architectural design, evolution, and implementation of a robust and scalable ML lifecycle. This includes providing frameworks and best practices for AI researchers to develop and train models (leveraging tools on GCP and MLflow), and critically, owning the integration, productionization, deployment (via Cloud Run on GCP), and continuous monitoring of these models through robust, API-driven MLOps pipelines.
- Drive Innovation in LLM Integration: Spearhead the integration and development of advanced LLM-driven agentic workflows, leveraging existing services, APIs, and embedding them into sophisticated chat-based or autonomous interfaces.
- Implement Cutting-Edge Techniques: Guide the team in implementing advanced LLM techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), function calling, and memory-aware workflows to support complex and sophisticated agent behaviors.
- Quality Assurance & Best Practices: Champion and enforce rigorous software development practices, including comprehensive code reviews, robust testing strategies, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines within the MLOps context.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Industrialization: Collaborate extensively with ML engineers, data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to industrialize ML and LLM/Generative AI models, and to convert domain-specific APIs into LLM-controllable tools.
- Project Leadership & Agile Delivery: Lead MLOps projects within an agile framework, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, high-impact products and solutions.
- Technical Vision & Roadmap: Contribute significantly to the MLOps technical roadmap, evaluating new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve our ML infrastructure.
- Effective Communication: Communicate complex technical and business concepts, as well as team progress and challenges, effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
- Foster a Learning Culture: Actively foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and improvement within the team and across the broader engineering organization.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in MLOps for Machine Learning, or related fields, with a strong focus on deploying and managing ML/AI models in production.
- Leadership: Proven experience in a technical leadership role, including mentoring junior engineers, leading projects, and driving technical initiatives.
- Technical Depth:
- Expertise in designing, building, and operating MLOps pipelines in cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure), including tools for orchestration, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD.
- Deep understanding and practical experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG, and integrating LLMs into production systems.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python (essential), Go, Java, or similar, with a strong emphasis on writing production-grade code.
- Architectural Mindset: Ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective MLOps architectures that meet business requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of tackling complex technical challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: A strong collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence technical direction.
- Continuous Improvement: A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and driving change, keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in MLOps and AI.
Compensation
At ModiFace, we believe compensation should be transparent, fair, and reflective of both experience and impact. The salary range for this role is $140.000 - 150.000 Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and the scope and complexity of the role.
