A Day in the Life
Join our Legal Corporate Affairs Department, where we build the excellence of L’Oréal, the world’s leading beauty Group, by anticipating and proactively applying regulations and best practices in corporate and securities law, financial transparency, ESG, and foundations.
As a Corporate Legal Counsel, you’ll be part of the “Subsidiaries Governance & Intra-Group Relations” team, a dynamic and pioneering team specialized in digitalizing L’Oréal’s worldwide corporate law matters. Based in Paris, you’ll work in a stimulating, innovative, and multicultural environment, directly interfacing with top management and international stakeholders.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
Corporate Law
- Supervise corporate law matters for over 200 international subsidiaries, including approval of accounts, changes in corporate officers, and Powers of Attorney.
- Oversee international restructuring operations (capital increases, mergers, demergers, etc.) in partnership with HQ, Zone, and local teams.
- Monitor and update the Group’s corporate database (Dilitrust).
Digitalization of Corporate Law – GEM Project
- Contribute to the global deployment of the GEM corporate platform, successfully launched in Europe in 2024 and set for worldwide rollout in 2025.
- Onboard subsidiaries from regions such as SAPMENA, North Asia, and Latam onto the GEM platform.
- Design and model governance processes, including audits (UBO, board composition, Powers of Attorney, etc.).
- Integrate artificial intelligence into governance processes through partnerships with leading law firms.
Intra-Group Relations
- Develop and deploy training materials related to governance and intra-group relations.
- Strengthen governance of intra-group agreements and monitor their implementation and renewal.
- Contribute to the digitalization of intra-group relations.
Delegations of Powers and Responsibilities
- Monitor and update delegations of powers and responsibilities within the Group.
- Prepare onboarding documentation for new corporate officers/directors, in collaboration with HR and local legal teams.
International Legal Community
- Lead the international legal community to implement corporate best practices.
- Act as an ambassador at HQ level, guiding local teams in collaborative best practices and corporate processes.
- Collaborate with local legal teams and other Group departments on cross-functional topics.
- Participate in EU and international associations dedicated to corporate law standardization.
The skills that you will need to make an impact:
- A Master’s degree in corporate law (Bac+5 level), ideally complemented by an LLM or business school degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably in the legal department of a listed international group or an international law firm.
- Fluency in French and English as working languages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate fluidly with a wide range of stakeholders, including top management.
- Strong writing, analytical, and summarizing skills.
- Agility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- A good understanding of corporate governance issues and multidisciplinary expertise.
