A Day in the Life

The Director of Digital & Technology will lead the strategy, development and implementation of Digital Education and lead evaluation of systems and workflow operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness to meet business needs. The Director will partner closely with brands and channel partners on planning and developing Digital Education. They will be the direct business point of contact for IT and exemplify in depth knowledge of processes and related systems. Directly manages 3 Digital team members and 1 Technology team member

 

Requirements

  • At least 5-8 years of experience in retail store operations or related field, with at least 3 to 5 years managing people and project management experience required. 
  • SAP, Salesforce and Project Management experience required.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership experience with at least 5 years managing teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including both speaking/presenting and listening.
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively, and to balance competing demands and priorities in a very fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and sound judgment in dealing with senior leaders; effectively builds relationships and resources at all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail; ability to produce highly accurate documents and work products in a demanding environment; takes pride in their work.
  • Highly proactive; takes initiative to begin and complete projects; masterful at follow-up and tracking work projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel; proficient and comfortable with technology and able to troubleshoot routine technological issues.
  • Ability to sit and use normal office equipment (phone, computer etc.) more than 90% of the day.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% and work weekends as necessary based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities

Digital

  • Lead strategic vision, planning, development and execution of Digital Education for SalonCentric with Data First mindset.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (both internal and external) including Marketing, Ecommerce, Social Media, SalonCentric Learning & Development, Brands and Channel Teams to execute Digital Education strategies.
  • Innovate Digital Education across all channels i.e. Virtual, Streaming, On Demand etc.
  • Collaborate with Director of Field Education to create a seamless Education journey from Digital, to Store, to Salon etc. 
  • Key point of contact for ecommerce team to optimize customer education experience through data, insight and enhancements.
  • Liase and lead Education team through Global initiatives that impact Digital Education.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the Digital Education team, who work directly with brands, educators, customers, sales team, marketing etc. Directly manages Senior Manager and two Digital Assistant Managers.

Technology

  • Key point of contact for L’Oreal IT to ensure strategic alignment of all IT/System related projects.
  • Assess timing and risk associated with projects impacting the education department. Make recommendations on launches and implement strategy from planning to execution.
  • Lead operational processes, such as SalesForce functionality, Attendee Management Systems, SAP, education loyalty programs and automation opportunities.
  • Partner with internal departments on enhancing Education on all channels with a focus on SalonCentric.com and SC App.
  • Collaborate with Education Team leaders to identify opportunities in terms of systems, policies, procedures, and lead the creation of SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Lead and champion data mining in collaboration with internal business partners to gain business intelligence to drive and execute on SalonCentric Education strategies.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the Education Technology team member who work directly with brands, educators, customers, sales teams, marketing etc.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as directed by AVP Education
