A Day in the Life

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related business experience with a deep expert knowledge of the makeup category (formulation, trends, and textures)
  • Expertise in sustainability preferred with learning agility to develop further expertise in sustainability
  • Extensive knowledge of the worldwide Offer Development (OD) and vendor ecosystem, with a strong, established network in this global makeup supplier landscape
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated L’Oréal Competencies: Leadership, Entrepreneurial Management, Achiever, and Innovator
  • PC Proficiency (Microsoft Suite)
  • Professional and energetic with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  1. Sustainability Strategy
  1. Vision: Frame an ambitious sustainability vision and strategy for Maybelline, in cooperation with the Brand Management Committee.
  2. Pillars of Impact: Orchestrate a roadmap focusing on three key areas: Product Sustainability, O+O Sustainability, Digital Sustainability
  3. Governance & PIL: Establish the governance at DMI level to activate the roadmap, notably leading the Brand Sustainability Committee and creating specific workstreams for the Product Impact Labeling (PIL) roll-out.
  4. Monitoring & Reporting: Track yearly milestones based on product footprint analysis and Brand Sustainability scorecards; report annually to the Corporate Responsibility team and Division Sustainability Director.
  1. Product Innovation 
  1. Innovation Supervision: Supervise the Worldwide Product Innovation strategy, ensuring that new launches are both market-leading and aligned with our sustainability commitments.
  2. Global Makeup Vendor Ecosystem: Serve as the primary point of contact for the worldwide makeup vendor landscape. You must understand, navigate, and leverage the global ecosystem of suppliers to identify "disruptive" sustainable technologies and speed-to-market opportunities.
  3. Global Connectivity: Act as the bridge between global and regional innovation hubs:
  4. Supervise (in dotted line) the Product Development (PD) teams within the Global DMI.
  5. Work hand-in-hand with the Asia Hub and the China Innovation Center (CHIC) to ensure regional innovations feed into the global strategy.
  6. Offer Development Strategy: Ensure the consistency of the Worldwide offer development strategy, balancing speed-to-market with high-quality, sustainable formulations and packaging.
  7. Trend & Tech Foresight: Be the expert in the sustainability and innovation landscape (legislation, consumer trends, biotech, and digital beauty) to advise the Brand General Manager on growth opportunities.

  1. Internal Culture: Partner with the Learning team to ensure Sustainability and "Sustainable Innovation" upskilling for all brand employees through the L4TF (L’Oréal for the Future) journey.
  2. Strategic Communication: In collaboration with Brand and Division Communications:
  3. Ensure all employees are informed of the brand’s dual innovation and sustainability commitments.
  4. Build an external communication plan to raise awareness of Maybelline’s vision.
  5. Define a consumer engagement strategy that highlights the "Value + Values" proposition of our products.

  • Salary Range: $147,100-$213,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education and skill level)
