JOB TITLE: Senior Manager - Trade Marketing, L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty - Mumbai

A Day in the Life

As our Trade Marketing Manager for the L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty Division, you will be the strategic link between our marketing and commercial teams. You will design and execute impactful trade marketing programs that maximize our brand presence in-store and drive sales. This is a key role where you will directly shape the shopper experience for our world-renowned dermatological brands.

Your responsibilities will include:

    • Identifying, Defining & implementing key business driver for each channel
      1. Creating framework for Annual Operating Plan building blocks creation and monitoring 
      2. Detailed Channel wise target buildup by city
      3. Organizational energy boosters/contests
      4. New effective & efficient models to cover existing & new geographies
    • Visibility/Channel Program Strategy and Execution
      1. Developing and implementing a visibility strategy customized by channel and segment of stores in line with Division guidelines
      2. Monitoring and measuring the performance of Visibility programs and driving investment efficiency
      3. Managing agency partners to deliver best in class quality of visibility execution
      4. Creation/Adaptation of POSM design in collaboration with Marketing
      5. Visibility payout management
    • Merchandising Strategy and Execution
      1. Merchandising structure and Store identification
      2. Custodian of Merchandising Tools, Dashboards and Insights
      3. Managing Merchandising agency partner
      4. Merchandiser incentives and performance
    • Scheme/Promo design and budgeting
      1. Scheme and Promo design, deployment and corresponding budget provisioning for each channel and segment
      2. Analysing scheme/promo performance and drawing insights
    • Trade Spend Management
      1. Allocating and Tracking trade spends vs budget
      2. Identifying trade spend optimisation opportunities
      3. Driving governance and compliance around trade spend related processes
      4. Trade Calendar and monthly meeting with Reps
    • Advocacy
      1. Driving advocacy for the brand through Chemist Training and Engagement programs
      2. Planning, Deployment and performance monitoring of Beauty Advisors 
    • Trade and Shopper Engagement and Recruitment
      1. Planning and execution of shopper engagement activations
      2. Designing and Driving sampling and testers program
      3. Design of Selling enablers
      4. Playbook - Selling Stories & Handling Key objections
    • Market Share
      1. Responsible for tracking and driving offtake metrics such as Market Share and Weighted Distribution
    • Support Medical Team
      1. Planning and execution of tools required by medical team
      2. In-Clinic execution
    • Data and Analytics
    1. Competitive benchmarking & repository on marketing & trade spends
    2. Retailer wise sales analysis and tracking
    3. Channel performance tracking and insights
    4. Brand/Franchise performance tracking and insights
    5. Distributor ROI analysis & next steps

 

We Are Looking For

We are seeking a commercially sharp individual who can translate brand strategy into effective in-store execution. You have a proven ability to analyze data, build strong relationships, and lead cross-functional projects. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are driven to achieve tangible results.

You are a great fit if you have:

  • An MBA or equivalent degree.
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in trade marketing, with a proven track record preferably within the FMCG or Beauty sectors.
  • Retail & Trade Activation: A track record of creating and managing successful online and offline activation plans for retail partners.
  • In-Store Excellence: Strong capabilities in driving in-store visibility, merchandising, and shopper engagement.
  • Analytical & Strategic Mindset: The ability to analyze distributor ROI, track retailer sales, and use insights to build effective growth strategies.

 

Key Relationships

  • Internal Interactions: Marketing, Commercial, Education, Financial Control and Supply Chain
  • Reports into the Commercial Director
