Generally speaking, a Business Analyst (BA) is a professional who serves as a crucial link between the business needs of an organization and its technical solutions or projects. The Salesforce business analyst is this plus a project-based, business-improvement role. Business analysts help guide to improve business processes and efficiency in Salesforce. They elicit, document, and analyze requirements around business challenges, and then help produce data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for Salesforce configurations, and ensuring the system aligns with business goals. They also work on process improvement, user training, and testing to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Salesforce related solutions. They facilitate effective communication among various stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is on the same page regarding project objectives.
What you will do:
- Conducting meetings and interviews to gather requirements from business stakeholders
- Translating business requirements into Salesforce configurations and solutions, often using declarative tools.
- Performing process analysis and documentation through methods like flowcharts
- Identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions for improvement and reduced risks
- Researching and evaluating software, tools and automation options
- Creating detailed requirements documentation and specifications
- Supporting solution design, testing and implementation
- Preparing reports, presentations and business cases
- Managing projects and product delivery schedules
- Acting as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Potentially developing and delivering training materials to ensure users can effectively utilize the Salesforce system.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of Salesforce configurations, processes, and prioritized user stories.
- Identifying and resolving issues within the Salesforce system, working with development teams to implement fixes.
Requirements Gathering
- Interview stakeholders to identify business requirements

Process Analysis
- Analyze current business processes, systems, data and workflows
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Document processes through methods like flowcharts
Solutions Analysis
- Assess solutions and provide recommendations based on analysis
- Research technology options and vendors
- Potentially, develop business cases and cost/benefit analyses for solutions
Process Improvement
- Work to optimize business processes for greater efficiency
- Align processes with business goals and strategy
- Implement solutions like automation to streamline workflows
Project Management
- Plan and manage the project life cycle from initiation to closure
- Track progress to ensure on-time delivery
- Liaise between project team, sponsors and stakeholders
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Create test plans and test cases to validate that Salesforce solutions meet business needs/rqts
- Perform user acceptance, integration and regression testing
- Document and track defects throughout testing
What we are looking for:
- 5 – 7 years of industry experience as a Business Analyst
Salesforce Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Service Cloud, Sales Cloud a plus, and other relevant modules.
- Familiar with SOQL
- Create reports and dashboard
Business Analysis Skills:
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements, as well as identifying process improvements.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and technical teams.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and propose solutions.
Project Management Skills:
- Experience in managing projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Other:
- Self-motivated and creative
- Good communication skills – written, verbal and presentation. The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues
- Attention to detail and follow-up
- Ability to work within an Agile and an SDLC environment (agile and more traditional development methodologies)
