Join a dynamic and innovative Finance team at one of the 7 L’Oreal Zone Business Services Centers called BEST Warsaw (Business, Expertise, Services & Technology). Established in January 2018, it is one of L’Oréal’s most rapidly growing units. BEST Warsaw has more than 100 people with 16 different nationalities and carries out accounting and finance processes for 16 markets from Central and Eastern Europe, and Middle-East. BEST consists of the following departments: Process to Payment, Cash Accounting, Record to Report, Delivery Excellence, and also Controlling. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Record to Report (RTR) Compliance Officer who will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of financial and accounting integrity, process efficiency, and regulatory adherence across the organization. This role acts as a bridge between L’Oreal Group standards and local execution, driving process harmonization, supporting complex accounting matters (including hyperinflation and tax compliance), and leading the external audit process for the BEST Warsaw center.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Excellence & Compliance
• Assist Group, Local Process Owners (LPO), Managers in implementing new compliance standards, regulations, and designated frameworks
• Review existing processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks; propose and drive optimized, sustainable solutions and process alignments across all relevant countries.
• Develop, update, and maintain procedures, process documentation, and control frameworks to ensure global consistency.
• Support automation and digitalization initiatives, including system enhancements and reporting optimization within the RTR stream.
2. Quality, Internal Control & Audit Management
• Act as the primary lead and key point of contact for the external/internal audit processes for the entire BEST Warsaw center.
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and guarantee strict adherence to Group guidelines, legal requirements, and tax regulations.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting in line with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS and local GAAP).
3. Advisory & Specialized Accounting Support
• Serve as the subject matter expert for RTR teams, providing technical guidance on accounting treatments, process execution, and the resolution of complex or non-standard transactions.
• Lead support on specialized accounting compliance issues, such as those related to hyperinflation, ensuring full adherence to relevant standards.
• Provide expert support in the preparation of consolidation reporting for Balance Sheets and other critical reports (e.g., Tax reporting, Country-by-Country reporting).
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Support on complex accounting compliance matters, such as those related to hyperinflation, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other BEST centers and external stakeholders (auditors) to promote best practice sharing.
• Support change management activities and facilitate knowledge transfer during organizational shifts or system migrations.
5. Team Upskilling & Culture
• Proactively drive and promote a culture of continuous improvement and "compliance by design" within the team and among stakeholders.
• Lead and promote the upskilling of the RTR team through training, mentoring, and technical guidance.
Required Profile & Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in RTR/General Ledger within an international SSC/GBS or Big 4 environment.
• University degree in Finance/Accounting; a professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred
• Business acumen & Comprehensive knowledge of the End-to-End (E2E) Record-to-Report process, including closing and complex reporting, and balance sheet integrity, key control implementation, IFRS norms (Hyperinflation accounting is a significant advantage).
• Proven track record in leading external audit processes and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and data accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP and experience with consolidation/reporting tools, passion for driving automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of other European languages is a plus given the regional scope of BEST Warsaw.
• Exceptional ability to act as a trusted advisor, navigating matrix organizations to ensure cross functional cooperation & networking.
• Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change, process standardization, and large-scale financial transformation projects.
• Strong commitment to upskilling teams, mentoring colleagues, and fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex compliance requirements into clear, compelling narratives that drive engagement and organizational adherence.
• High degree of independence and the organizational agility to manage competing priorities and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
