What You Will Learn:
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for the beauty industry and a desire to drive category growth? L'Oréal Dermatological Brands is seeking a dynamic and insights-driven Category Development Manager to contribute to the development and execution of our HBL & Sun category strategy across all channels.
This role will leverage shopper understanding, market analysis, and omni-channel expertise to accelerate the growth of our HBL & Sun portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a strong understanding of the retail landscape and an eagerness to identify and capitalize on emerging trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Contribution & Support:
- Support the development and execution of the overall LDB HBL and Sun category portfolio strategy, across all brands and channels.
- Conduct regular market and category analysis, identifying key trends, growth opportunities, and potential threats, and present findings to senior management.
- Contribute to the definition of brand-specific strategies to maximize market potential based on customer insights and market dynamics.
- Share category insights and recommendations with the LDB Commercial and Marketing teams, contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Support the DMI, Marketing, and CMI teams with data-driven category information and trend analysis.
- Assist in the alignment and execution of the category strategy across internal stakeholders.
- Utilize internal and external data sources for insights, NielsenIQ, Market360, Amazon Tech/Profitero, Scintilla, Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, Ipsos panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty systems, bespoke shopper studies (CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, UX studies, Merchandizing Studies and external market research (ex. Euromonitor, Kantar, Kline, Mintel).
Category Guideline Implementation:
- Assist in implementing guidelines for the HBL and Sun categories, including product prioritization (grow, maintain, delete) across all brands.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and selling stories across all online and offline channels, under the guidance of senior management.
- Identify potential white space opportunities and new segments or channels for the LDB HBL and Sun portfolio and propose recommendations.
- Contribute to the evolution from Category Management to Category Development, focusing on long-term growth and innovation.
Account Strategy & Market Share Growth Support:
- Support the development and implementation of account-specific strategies with key retailers (online and offline) to drive long-term growth within the HBL and Sun categories.
- Assist in building strong partnerships with account leadership.
- Leverage category insights and compelling selling stories to empower account teams and brands.
Measures of Success:
- Contribution to the growth in LDB market share across all channels, including emerging and omni-channel platforms.
- Support in maximizing distribution, shelf share, and promotional share both online and offline.
- Quality and impact of contributed internal and external strategic insights.
- Growth in strategic categories at Key customers
- Successful collaboration with retailers to support category strategies and drive shopper penetration.
- Effective contribution to category projects.
- Support in achieving growth targets.
What We Are Looking For:
A results-oriented individual who can translate market and shopper insights into actionable strategies, contributing to profitable growth for the LDB Hair category. You will possess a solid understanding of category management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Marketing, Category Management, or Sales within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
- Experience supporting the development and execution of retailer strategies and projects.
- Proven ability to analyze data and contribute to sales and profit optimization plans.
- Experience within the beauty industry, ideally with some exposure to multiple categories.
- Knowledge of shopper insights and their application to category management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings and contribute to action plans.

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:
Salary Range: $98,400 – $140,200 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
