We are seeking a Manager, Development to join our team in El Segundo, California. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will be the Technical Launch Lead for NYX Professional Make Up Collaborative Collections, Partnerships, and "Moments." You will oversee the end-to-end technical project lifecycle for limited-edition and co-branded launches across all categories (Face, Eye, and Lip).

You will act as the primary technical bridge between NYX Operations, Global Business teams, and external partners, ensuring that complex creative visions are industrialized with speed, quality, and adherence to L’Oréal’s "Simplicity" and sustainability standards.

What You Will Do: 

As the Development Manager for Collaborations & Partnerships, you will manage technical project timelines limited edition and partnership launches. You will lead the industrialization of complex packaging designs and formula mixes that must meet both L’Oréal standards and the strict brand guidelines of our external partners. You will provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and drive process improvements to ensure a flawless and cost-effective market entry.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Guide Marketing in new product briefs and conception definitions to ensure design to Agility / Profitability / L’Oreal For the Future (L4TF)
  • Project and Timeline Management: Develop and manage project timelines, identifying the key tasks and milestones and minimizing areas of risk to ensure on-time launches in compliance with the L’Oreal Quality system.
  • Risk Mitigation & Escalation: Proactively identify technical roadblocks related to the high-speed nature of "Limited Edition" launches. Create mitigation plans, secure quality backup options, and contribute to risk escalation strategies for leadership.
  • Lead project review meetings and drive resolution of roadblocks impacting projects.
  • Marketing & Creative Alignment: Guide Marketing and Global Business teams in product brief creation, ensuring designs align with Agility, Profitability, and L’Oréal For the Future (L4TF) sustainability goals.
  • Manufacturing Interface: Interface directly with vendors and internal manufacturing teams to ensure the smooth industrialization of new, unique components.
  • Innovation & Benchmarking: Lead package innovation and maintain professional knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in global markets to keep NYX at the forefront of the industry.
  • Team Support: Provide technical guidance and development support to cross-functional team members to ensure project success.
  • Aesthetic approvals with Marketing with a Consumer Experience mindset
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business or a related discipline is preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in package/product development and project management. Experience in the cosmetics or consumer goods industry is highly preferred.
  • Must be collaborative and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to be able to influence effectively with all levels of our organization internally and externally
  • Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, and dissemination of information as needed on each project
  • Agility & Mindset: A "speed-to-market" mindset with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight, fixed deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage documentation, materials, and information across multiple categories and external partnerships simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends and technologies in global markets
  •  Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Project, Teams). Understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industrialization
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities will be a requirement (10-15% of time)
  • Ability to work onsite in the El Segundo office per the company’s hybrid policy.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future (required)


Salary Range: 90k-128k + bonus
