L’Oréal ANZ is seeking a motivated legal professional to join our high-performing legal team for a 12-month parental leave cover contract.   

In this role, you will be able to put your legal skills to work by providing day to day legal advice and support on a variety of matters across the areas of consumer law, competition law, health regulation, digital and data, contract law and general corporate/commercial matters.

The role is based in Melbourne. 

United by a common purpose of “create the beauty that moves the world”, the L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand legal team is a leading, innovative legal team partnering closely across 38 L’Oréal brands and functions including Lancôme, Aesop, YSL, Giorgio Armani, Kiehl’s, La Roche Posay, Skinceuticals, Garnier and Maybelline.

ABOUT THE JOB

Your job responsibilities as a leading, legal problem solver will include: 

  • Using your specialist legal business partnering skills and commercial insights to provide customer centric advice and assistance to our dynamic team across all functions and divisions on a range of issues - from the mild to wild.
  • Designing, drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on proposed contracts, variations, terminations and third party partnerships.
  • Advising the business on compliance with consumer law, marketing advice and health regulation (including compliance with the TGA).
  • Conducting practical and accessible legal training and legal education across the business.
  • Ensuring compliance with L’Oréal’s way of doing business, assisting with compliance related activities relating to fraud ,corruption and intermediaries. 
  • Advancing the legal team’s legal innovation and legal operations strategy.
  • Using your strategic acumen and influencing skills to develop strong relationships across the business and to further the legal team’s mission of being connected collaborators, providing practical, commercially astute advice and superior service.


ABOUT YOU

  • Aminimum of 2 - 3years PQE legal experience gained either in-house (including secondment experience) or within a law firm, with any experience within FMCG and/or retail will be highly regarded.    
  • Proven track record in implementing legal technology solutions to solve legal problems is key to the next phase of innovation and growth of our legal team and the L'Oréal ANZ business. 
  • Bring a strong regulatory mindset with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and advise within complex compliance and regulatory landscapes while supporting business growth.
  • Strong attention to detail, a curious and creative mind and problem-solving skills, including any interest in developing or improving ways of working.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and capability to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to provide strategic, pragmatic and commercial advice.
  • A genuine appreciation for our brands, products and companies is a must.
  • Thrives when working within a busy team that addresses a wide range of matters, a willingness to be involved in a variety of matters and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree and/or Tertiary qualification in law with an unrestricted Australian practicing certificate.
