[Who We Are]
The Korea Advanced Research team is responsible for coordinating various projects between Korean partners with the global L’Oréal teams to support different research topics within the scope of skin, hair, and scalp. Within this broad domain, the team is involved in multi-disciplinary research across various fields including green chemistry to medical-inspired biotechnology.
The goal of Korea Advanced Research is to detect and interact with partners who possess these innovative technologies for the development of novel cosmetic, dermatology, and related services.
We are seeking for a creative, open-minded, and self-driven candidate to join our team. The candidate must embrace a flexible and an adaptable mindset to foster collaboration between various stakeholders as well as to have the right level of scientific expertise to scout for new technological spaces and to aid the selection of the right key partners within the ecosystem.
[Responsibilities]
- Technology & Trend Identification: Proactively identify and verify emerging technologies (e.g., biotechnology, medical science, digital health) and key trends which may have an impact in the cosmetic and personal care industry, focusing on potential applications and innovations.
- Partnership Management: Connect and foster a strong relationship with key partners within the local ecosystem in order to track the changing technological landscape and to incorporate them into the internal R&I framework.
- Cross-Functional Project Management: Coordinate and lead projects that have local partner involvement with various internal stakeholders to create synergies in creating products with new technologies, ingredients, and/or services.
[Qualifications & skills]
- Education background degree in a scientific field related to Biology, Biotechnology, Medicalized materials, or a related discipline.
- 5 + years of experience or relevant equivalent advanced educational experience in biotechnology scouting, cosmetic raw material development related to biological materials, or biomedical/biotech research, or a related field
- Proficiency in using online databases, search engines, government resources, and the ability to interpret scientific sources.
- Strong understanding of both the biological and medical fields and their relation to the cosmetics and personal care industry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in Korean and an active ability to communicate in English is essential
