A Day in the Life
As a Purchasing Senior Buyer, you will act as a strategic business partner at the heart of our Operations division. As a key member of the Business Partner team, you will collaborate closely with the entire Purchasing department to drive business growth and ensure purchasing excellence. Your mission is to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, optimize spending across diverse categories, and lead high-impact strategic initiatives that create tangible value for L'Oréal.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Strategic Business Partnership: You will build a strong, trust-based relationship with your assigned business division, acting as their central point of contact for all purchasing matters. You will develop and execute division-specific purchasing strategies that align with their business goals, delivering not only cost savings but also significant value-added support.
• Cross-Domain Sourcing & Value Creation: You will manage bidding processes across a wide range of indirect categories (e.g., Marketing, POS, Digital, IT, HR, Scientific Services). Beyond individual projects, you will identify cross-domain synergies and opportunities for spend consolidation, maximizing value for the entire organization.
• Strategic Initiatives & Integration: You will take the lead on complex, ad-hoc projects that require strategic thinking and agility. This includes planning and executing key events such as supplier forums, as well as managing the seamless integration of suppliers during M&A activities when applicable.
• Process Optimization & Knowledge Management: You will be a driver for efficiency, establishing a knowledge hub to streamline purchasing processes and reduce recurring inquiries. You will develop communication plans and training for users on everything from negotiated rate cards to purchasing policies, empowering the business and enhancing operational maturity.
• Compliance & Risk Governance: You will validate Purchase Orders in line with group policies and ensure all purchasing activities adhere to compliance standards, effectively managing risk and maintaining strong governance across your division.

You're a great match if you have:
• Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Proven experience as a buyer in indirect areas, such as marketing, promotion, POS, digital, Scientific services, or HR services. You have a track record of delivering not only cost savings but also strategic value.
• Advanced Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships with business partners and stakeholders at all levels.
• Hands-on Execution & Agility: A hands-on approach to managing multiple priorities and complex projects. You can adapt quickly to changing business needs and deliver results.
• Analytical & Presentation Skills: Proficiency in analyzing complex data to generate actionable insights, and the ability to present them compellingly to support strategic decision-making.
• Language Proficiency: Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken, TOEIC 750 or above for English) is required for this role.
It's also a great plus if you have:
• Experience in a multi-national company, preferably in the FMCG or luxury industry.
• Experience with procurement systems such as SRM, Ariba, or SAP.
