The Director- Brand Culture marketing will lead brand communication + PR, strategic Culture + Entertainment + brand marketing opportunities for NYX Professional Makeup across several categories including: entertainment, VIP talent, sports and music. This candidate will help create and lead the management and activation and play a pivotal role in unlocking new cultural programs, campaigns, and co-marketing opportunities across industries. This person will lead PR to drive brand visibility and reputation in the U.S. market, by creating compelling story-telling.
In partnership with cross-functional team members including: Digital, Strategic Partnerships and Marketing stakeholders, this candidate will help create and scale new opportunities and focus on tentpole/entertainment/cultural programming, and industry connectivity. This candidate will be a key driver of cultural fluency within the brand- must have a true passion and understanding of the entertainment ecosystem + story-telling.
What You Will Do:
- Assist in developing a vision and framework for NYX PM to execute culturally relevant opportunities and campaigns adjacent to beauty
- Execute PR strategies for the US, highlighting the brand, NYX Professional Makeup, digital innovation, launches, etc.
- Draft press releases, talking points and other communication materials
- Oversee VIP talent and partner outreach and negotiation; guide the brand into new partners and platforms across entertainment, sports and music
- Serve as a point of contact for PR, culture and talent, agencies, and help facilitate the workflow across teams/stakeholders
- Work with internal + external social media teams to help identify new opportunities for the brand and discover relevant content + brand opportunities (outside of day to day brand launches)
- Maintain expert understanding of the entertainment landscape, industry trends and pop-culture (including celebrities, athletes, musicians, personalities, experts, tentpole cultural moments and events, etc.)
- Leverage relevant industry trends to develop strategic recommendations, programs and/or campaigns for NYX Professional Makeup
- Track brand culture activations and share best practices/learnings
- Vet and lead the implementation of entertainment + cultural pilots and work collaboratively to co-create new, creative opportunities for our brand
- Maintain strong relationships with talent agents, managers and publicists and cultivate new relationships with external partners and creators
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Must have a true passion and understanding of pop culture
- 8+ years of marketing, entertainment marketing, public relations, advertising agency or talent agency experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to synthesize trends and insights and translate them into partnership strategies
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and focused on projects from developing the vision and strategy to executing and evaluating the results
- Ability to interact and present to all levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with a positive and team-oriented, collaborative approach
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Photoshop a plus
