What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly driven, motivated and results-oriented professional who can effectively translate market and shopper insights on Hair & Cosmetics into actionable insights with a passion for details. The successful candidate will possess a profound understanding of category management principles, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a proven ability to strategically influence both internal teams and external stakeholders. You will work closely with the Category Director supporting retailer specific priorities on Hair & Cosmetics by providing data-driven recommendations that improve assortment, pricing and promotional strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Category Director in developing and executing comprehensive category strategiesontheHair & Cosmeticscategoriesthat align with the retailer'sobjectivesfor overall category performance and shopper satisfaction.
- Provideobjective, data-driven recommendations to retailers on category growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape
- Proactively pull, analyze, and interpret a wide range of data sources, including confidential retailer POS data, syndicated market dataconsumer insights, and shopper behavior(e.g.NielsenIQ,VIQ,Market360, Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty system, shopper studies, CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, UX studies, Merchandizing Studies,Kantar, Kline, Mintel)
- Identifykey category performance drivers, shopper trends, and white space opportunities for theretailerin Hair andCosmetics, translating these into insights and recommendations for the entire category.
- Continuouslymonitorthe competitive landscape and overall category performance to inform adaptive strategiesby conducting weekly in store and online visits.
- Serve as the category subject matter expertinHair & Cosmetics, influencing key decisions by providing internal stakeholders and retail partners with fact-based, strategic recommendations.
- Support the development and revision of both physical and virtualHair Colorplanograms using JDA software
- Partner cross-functionally withtheHair & CosmeticsBuyers, Planners, SEM and Space Planning teams to ensure cohesive execution of category initiatives.
- Identifyand recommend new product opportunities, assortment gaps, and promotional strategies thatbenefitthe entireHair & Cosmeticscategory.
- Act as a trusted, confidential, and impartial category expertinHair & Cosmeticsfor our retail partners, fostering strong relationships built on data integrity and objectivity.
- Work internally withHair & CosmeticsSalesteams toalignstrategies that support overall category growth for our retailers, while navigating brand-specificobjectivesresponsibly.

- Deliver shopper-centric planograms that reflect best-in-class merchandising principles
- Effective & Timely Support provided to the Category DirectorandHair & CosmeticsBuying Teamfor strategic initiatives and projects.
- Proactive Identification of key category opportunities and risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, orrelatedfield.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a category management role, Target and Beauty experience preferred.
- Proficiencyin syndicated data analysis (e.g., Nielsen, IRI,Circana, M360) with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with planogram software (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder) isrequired.
- Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to analyze complex data,identifytrends, and develop actionable, unbiased insights(e.g.Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty system, CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, etc.)
- Clear, concise, and persuasive verbal and written communication for internal and external stakeholders, especially with retailers.
- Capacity for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical principles (NDAs).
- Proven ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with retail partners and influence positive outcomes.
- Meticulous attention to detail andcommitmentto data accuracy.
- A self-motivated individual focused on achieving measurable category growth for retailers.
