In the department of Skin Application Domain (DA), we are looking for a researcher for the photoprotection. Photoprotection is a strategic category for the group, and an important challenge as we are considering sustainability and global regulation. We have to change the science of photoprotection and invent new UV filtration systems more respectful of the environment.
The ambition of our Photoprotection innovation group is to develop inclusive daily photoprotection products for Japan and the world, benefiting from our expertise on sensoriality and beauty benefits.

Location : Kanagawa, Japan
As a researcher, your main responsibilities are :
- Develop innovative and efficient consumer products in the field of photoprotection.
- Implement new ideas on the formulation of materials with perceivable, measurable performance
- Manage cross-disciplinary research projects and communicate with other hubs across the world
- Connect with external partners to explore new technical solutions to overcome beauty skin concerns
- Monitor scientific communications, competitor technologies and suppliers
- Contribute to intellectual property management
- Perform risk analysis on project and apply quality best practices
To succeed in this position, you have :
- PhD/Masters in physicochemical or chemical related field.
- Professional experience of at least 3 years in the field of cosmetic formulations with biological/optical functional materials expertise.
- Good oral and written English communication skills as well as Japanese skills
- Interest to expand capabilities beyond current expertise
Also it would be good to have :
- Experience in research of photoprotection formulation
- Experience in data analysis – statistics, digital image analysis, etc.
- Experience in academic conference presentation or paper publication or patent filing
