Summary

We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Market Insight and Business Insight Manager to join our dynamic CMI team. In this critical role, you will play a key role in driving market insights by uncovering actionable insights that fuel the growth of our markets and brands. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of market data and the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives. This role will act as a business partner by navigating through market dynamics and identifying key market inclusive of channel and category trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business performance reporting and forecasting
    1. Monthly Online + Offline reporting for Total Market and 4 Divisions inclusive of competitor monitoring and brand ranking
    2. Forecasting of market and business growth during 4 periods
    3. Beauty market overview for annual Zone and Division visits
  • Lead beauty market sizing and deep dives inclusive of emerging channels and categories e.g. 2P market sizing, new category sizing, aesthetic beauty market sizing  
  • Responsible for managing data accuracy and integrity of external market data like Nielsen, Beaute Research, Flywheel, Kline, etc.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources (e.g., Nielsen RMS, KWP, internal sales data, CRM data and other) to identify key insights, trends, and opportunities
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and reports that effectively communicate insights and recommendations to key stakeholders across different levels and functions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams including Marketing, Commercial and Digital teams to integrate market insights into category and channel strategy as well as external agencies to deliver results
  • Design, execute, and analyze primary and secondary research studies and deep dives to address key business questions related to business challenges and opportunities
  • Proactively monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging channels to stay ahead of the curve


Required Skills / Experience / Competencies

  • Ability to work with large and multiple continuous data sets e.g. of data sources: Beaute Research, DBR, Kline report, Nielsen, e-commerce order data, CRM database, Google trend data etc
  • Technical expertise should include advanced Excel, forecast analysis and PowerBI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Possess good visualization and compelling data storytelling capabilities
  • Present and communicate sharp, clear, strong messages, directly useful for top management to make decisions 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and is self-sufficient as well as resilient when working independently with guidance from CMI Director
  • Ability to interact and manage stakeholders at different levels from the Managing Director to Division General Managers and Marketing Directors as well as Zone and Global CMI teams
  • Confident, enthusiastic and persuasive in their manner, the job holder will be practical and methodical in their approach to problem solving
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the CMI team
  • Cooperate with internal and external cross functional stakeholders using collaborative & agile tools and project modes
  • At least 6 - 8 years of relevant experience. Prior client and market research agency experience would be an added advantage
  • Passion for the beauty industry and a deep understanding of MYSG market would be a plus
