Description
The Global e-Commerce team at L’Oréal is looking for an experienced front-end architect, you will be responsible of the front-end team and will be contributing to the development of the new features and enhancement of our core framework that powers all the e-commerce websites of the group (+180 live sites). The architect will ensure having unit tested deliverables that will follow the development best in class practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage a large team of developers (onshore/offshore)
- Building & maintaining the front-end component library to be used across multiple brands/countries
- Responsible for architecting and defining the Front-end framework to solve complex designs and interactions that reflect product’s needs
- Writing technical documentation, white papers, presentations, contributes to determining internal processes
- Responsible for mentorship and guidance to technical team members in all project activities on multiple small to large sized projects
- Defining & evangelizing best practices around front-end technologies
- Collaborating with external teams (Business, Zone IT, Global)
- Focusing heavily on performance to ensure a fast-loading user experience
- Participates in scoping and planning work
Experiences & skills
- + 5 years XP of front-end development
- Proven Team management skills
- Experience with web industrialisation
- Experience with component development approach
- Cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
- Strong frontend web development skills:
- Vanilla Javascript (ES5, ES6)
- Familiarity with the standard programing patterns
- Strong experience with CSS at Scale & Preprocessor (Sass, Less)
- Building modular applications/sites
- Strong experience using modern frameworks (React, Vue, Ember, etc.)
- Advanced GIT knowledge

Familiarity
with CI/CD and automated testing (unit test, e2e)
Experiences Optimizing for Search Engines & Accessibility
- Good Experience using package managers (NPM, Bower, etc.)
- Experience with unit testing tools (Mocha, Jest, etc.)
- Experience setting a build stack using Gulp/Webpack
- Experience with JIRA / Confluence
- Good english (including speaking)
- Good communication skills
Big plus:
- Experience developing nodeJS based tools / plugins
- Experience with eCommerce platforms
- Familiar with template engines (Handlebars)
