Apprentice course: Business Admin

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester 

Duration: 15 months + EPA



The Team/Department...

 

You will work alongside the Head of HR for Phsyical Distribution and two HR business partners to ensure and create a consistent employee journey and life cycle.  You will become a trusted advisor to our Warehouse community to ensure engagement, future development and consistency of message.  

   

As part of the Physical Distribution community, you’ll be playing a huge part in our transformation journey, supporting our people with the journey of change and support with upskilling and development.

You will...

 

You need to be a people person; you’ll need the emotional intelligence it takes to work with a wide variety of people and solve problems that arise. There will also be opportunity to help with the learning and development of staff too, making this a busy but rewarding role. You will be required to provide a high level of customer service to both candidates and the internal managers alike.   

 

We will give you the opportunity to get a true flavour of the world of Human Resources with a specific focus on talent acquisition and development and employee relations.

 

Day-to-day Ownership

 

  • Answering queries and providing support to managers 
  • Running the DC payroll through Mitrefinch, extracting the data and sending to payroll in a CSV file for upload
  • ER Case support 
  • Internal recruitment – advertising, managing the system, arranging interviews and providing guidance to managers
  • Processing system changes to employment terms and conditions
  • Screening documentation before they are issued to employees for signature
  • Training and development tailored to our sector and population

  • HR System Knowledge, Mitrefinch time and attendance, POP, and EC
  • You will develop your understanding of Employee relations – having exposure to formal employee meetings.
