A Commercial Controller at L’Oréal takes full responsibility for the financial management of the trade allowances for one of our largest division and its customers. You will be required to work in a cross-functional team to prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts (trends). The role requires a strategic mindset & ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. You will be driven by delivering financial insight to enable sustainable growth whilst ensuring that internal controls are always respected.
Main Mission:
The Commercial Controller plays a key role within our team. He/She is responsible for monitoring and analyzing sales performance, identifying growth drivers, and contributing to the development of strategic recommendations to achieve the division's objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain a cross-functional view of the business and collaborate with different departments.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnover, market share, profitability, etc. Analyze market and competitor trends. Identify deviations from targets and propose corrective actions.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance for management. Contribute to the development of sales forecasts and budgets. Develop and maintain dashboards.
- Support to Sales Teams: Provide analytical support to sales teams in the field. Participate in the development of commercial action plans. Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in management control processes. Propose and implement solutions to optimize the efficiency and reliability of data.
- Cross-functional Projects: Participate in cross-functional projects in collaboration with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.).
Finance Excellence:
- Interpret financial results through maximizing financial systems (Compass, SAP) to providing actionable insight on customer P&L’s, sales growth analysis, gross margin analysis, customer trade margin and sell-in/sell-out data.
Business Planning & Optimization:
- Preparation of Customer and Brand Budget and financial forecasts (Trends).
- Monitoring of in-month tracking gross-to-net.
Business Partnering:
- Using L’Oréal knowledge as well as market & financial expertise to understand, improve & challenge the overall effectiveness of the business.
Profile Sought:
- Education: Master's degree (Bac+5) in Business, Engineering, or equivalent with a specialization in Finance or Management Control.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial controlling, ideally in the consumer goods or cosmetics industry.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and information systems (ERP, Business Intelligence). Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit.
- Proactive and solution-oriented.
- Languages: Fluent French. Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking).
