A Day in the Life of Tech Team Lead- Adobe Workfront / Fusion!

L'Oreal is deploying Adobe Workfront globally as the core Operating System for its Content Adaptation Factories. As the Tech Team Lead, you will head the engineering unit responsible for both platform configuration (Workfront Core) and automation/integrations (Workfront Fusion). You will manage, coach, and mentor a team of developers, establish engineering best practices, govern the technical architecture of the global instance, and ensure delivery of high-performing, secure, and scalable solutions connecting Workfront to L'Oreal's Content Tech ecosystem — including OpenText DAM.

 

In this role, You will..

Be responsible for the following:

Team Management & Technical Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a hybrid team of Workfront Core Developers and Fusion Integration Developers.
  • Define sprint planning, allocate resources, conduct code/scenario reviews, and maintain delivery velocity in an Agile environment.
  • Foster a collaborative, continuous-learning engineering culture focused on clean architecture and operational excellence.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and drive individual development plans for each team member.

Architecture Governance

  • Serve as the technical authority for the global Workfront instance — defining master configuration blueprints and metadata models.
  • Oversee end-to-end integration architecture: Fusion scenarios, custom API webhooks, data synchronisation with DAM/PIM.
  • Establish and enforce environment management (Sandbox to Production) and release management protocols.
  • Define and maintain coding/configuration standards, naming conventions, and review checklists for the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Global Workfront Product Manager, Business Analysts, and brand/market stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with L'Oreal's Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Identity Management teams for compliance with global IT standards.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for Programme Orchestra stakeholders 

Performance & Incident Management

  • Act as L4 escalation point for critical system outages, API failures, or configuration conflicts.
  • Proactively monitor system health, API limits, and Fusion scenario execution performance.
  • Drive post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures.

 

What are we looking for?

Workfront Core — Deep Technical Skills

  • Advanced Text Mode mastery for complex custom reporting, views, groupings, filters, and collection-based queries (including nested EXISTS statements).
  • Expert-level Calculated Custom Fields using Workfront formula functions (string manipulation, date math, logical conditions, system wildcards).
  • Dynamic Custom Forms: multi-tier cascading dropdowns, field skip-logic, section visibility rules, cross-object data mapping.
  • Workfront Proof (ProofHQ): proofing decision routing, automated workflow templates with multi-stage deadlines, proof role permissions.
  • Resource Management: Resource Planner, Workload Balancer, Job Roles, Billing Rate Cards, Cost/Revenue tracking.
  • Enterprise Security: hierarchical Access Levels, Layout Templates, System Preferences, data partitioning via Companies, Divisions, Groups, and Teams in a multi-brand global setup.
  • Direct experience with the Workfront REST API (v15+) for bulk updates, search queries, and schema exploration.

Workfront Fusion — Integration Skills

  • Scenario architecture and optimisation for high-volume, low-latency execution.
  • Advanced data processing with Aggregators, Iterators, Routers, Filters, and JSON schema-based Data Structures.
  • Enterprise error handling using Fusion directives (Commit, Rollback, Resume, Ignore, Break).
  • Custom connector development using Fusion DevTool / Apps SDK and raw HTTP requests for systems without native connectors.
  • Data Store management for state caching, sync deduplication, and data buffering.
  • Workfront Event Subscriptions (Webhooks) with filtering parameters for real-time automation.

Leadership & Domain Knowledge

  • 3–5 years managing engineering or platform development teams.
  • Strong Agile delivery experience: sprint ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), backlog management, velocity tracking. Jira or Azure DevOps proficiency.
  • Understanding of creative production lifecycles, content adaptation workflows, localisation processes, or agency ecosystems.
  • Fluent professional English (written and spoken). French is a strong asset.

Certifications

  • Required: Adobe Certified Professional — Workfront Fusion APIs and Integrations.
  • Required: Adobe Certified Professional — Workfront System Administrator.
  • Note: Candidates without both certifications may be considered if they demonstrate equivalent depth during the technical interview. Certification must then be obtained within 6 months of joining.

Nice to Have

  • Full-stack background: JavaScript, Python, or SQL for advanced Fusion scripting or BI reporting.
  • Identity management: SSO, SAML 2.0, automated user provisioning (SCIM / Azure AD / Okta) into Workfront.
  • Experience with DAM platforms (OpenText, AEM Assets) and metadata taxonomy design.
  • Prior experience in a Global Capability Center or offshore delivery model.
