Job Summary
 
 We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the data science initiatives within our Research and Innovation. You will be at the forefront of developing AI-driven solutions to predict and optimize the performance of cosmetic formulations. Your role will bridge cutting-edge machine learning with the physical and sensory properties of beauty products, significantly accelerating our time-to-market and product quality.
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 1. Predictive Formulation Modeling: Develop and deploy machine learning models to accurately predict the sensory, physicochemical, and functional performance of cosmetic formulas.
 
 2. Data Engineering & Curation: Clean, preprocess, and integrate complex R&D datasets (including formulation ingredients, test results, and real-world feedback). Engineer effective features to ensure high model fidelity.
 
 3. AI Model Selection & Optimization: Strategically select and fine-tune appropriate algorithms for different predictive scenarios. Avoid redundant model development by effectively utilizing and adapting open-source frameworks and code.
 
 4. Tool Integration & Efficiency: Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools, libraries, and platforms to streamline the R&D workflow. Implement MLOps best practices to ensure model robustness and reproducibility.
 
 5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with formulators, chemists, and product development teams to translate business goals into data science solutions, providing actionable insights.
 
 Requirements & Qualifications
 
 • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Informatics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
 
 • 3+ years of industry experience (consulting firm is plus) in data science particularly in machine learning, preferably in the cosmetics, chemical, or material science industry.
 
 • Expertise in Machine Learning: Deep understanding of various algorithms (Supervised/Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning) and the ability to select the right tool for the specific data challenge.
 
 • Strong Coding Skills: Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
 
 • Practical AI Mindset: Experience in utilizing open-source tools and code to build solutions efficiently ("don't reinvent the wheel").
 
 • Data Acumen: Exceptional skills in data preparation, feature engineering, and data visualization.
 
 • Domain Interest: A genuine curiosity and interest in the beauty, cosmetics, and personal care market is a strong plus.
