L’Oreal Romania is looking for a Mid-level LEGAL COUNSEL willing to join our Legal Department. The role promises a varied, fast-paced commercial law experience with the opportunity to develop a wide range of legal and corporate experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of L’Oréal’s businesses, and providing timely, accurate and legally compliant advice to the various divisions and functions. 

 

Reporting to the L’Oreal Romania General Counsel, you will support all business units of L’Oréal by providing legal advice from all areas of the business, including in commercial, digital, media, ecommerce, retail, marketing, purchasing, data privacy, finance, market research, consumer advisory and communications. 

 

THE MISSION: WHAT WILL AWAIT FOR YOU

 

  • Provide strategic legal advice to various operational and functional units of L'Oréal in all areas of law (commercial, competition, data privacy, corporate, communications, real estate, information technology & intellectual property).
  • Provide opinions and recommendations on the legal implications of L'Oréal's activities.
  • Participate in the negotiation, drafting and revision of all types of contracts.
  • Review various business documents & processes, including advertising materials and IP contracts, procedures and work-flows.
  • Liaising with counterparts in the Paris-based headquarters and Zone legal team; rafting different types of legal reports and filling in different types of platforms for the Group.
  • Archiving and keeping record to different legal matters. 
  • Represent the company toward public institutions/authorities, either governmental or local (city halls, agencies, etc.).
  • Provide support for pre-litigation resolution of commercial disputes and settlements Provide support in coordinating litigation involving L'Oréal. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Laws degree, with +4 years’ experience.
  • Previous working experience as a Legal Counsel or lawyer, preferable in FMCG.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial & corporate law; IP law would be an advantage.
  • Languages: English and Romanian
  • Ability to rapidly digest and distill complex issues and help formulate strategy / responses; Strategic thinker with ability to move effortlessly between strategy, implementation and tactical opportunities; ability to work fluently in a diverse and multi-national environment; Ability to coordinate among key stakeholders and manage relationships at multiple level.
  • Excellent writing, communication and negotiation skills; self-organizational and time management skills; strong business acumen, initiative, and possess a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to legal issues; very detail orientated.
  • Ability to establish, exploit and influence effective networks at all levels.
  • Confident and persuasive individual capable of managing and resolving difficult situations.
  • IT savvy and open to usage of legal technology and applications.
