Dispatch Controller - Centurion Distribution Centre

A Day in the Life: You report to the Dispatch Manager as Dispatch Controller at L’Oréal’s Centurion Distribution Centre, operating independently and collaborating daily with Customer Care, Distribution Centres teams, Picking/Wave Controllers and Transport Providers. Flexibility in hours is required to support early/late shifts, weekend work and occasional overtime.
- Dispatch Operations: plan, coordinate and execute daily haulage and parcel schedules; book trucks; ensure shipments are staged, loaded, invoiced and closed on time.
- Documentation & Compliance: prepare and validate transport, export and customs documentation; ensure cross border regulatory compliance.
- Systems & Controls: operate Manhattan WMS for execution, use Excel for exception analysis, and maintain stock control of dispatch materials.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement: record quality and EHS anomalies, coordinate corrective actions with carriers, support training/coaching and propose improvements to Quality, Safety & Hygiene.
We Are Looking For: You’re action-oriented, have great attention to detail, organised, pro-active and decisive under pressure, able to resolve issues with urgency to maintain outbound flow. Required skills:
- Transportation & Logistics Execution
- Dispatch Planning & Order Fulfilment
- Export & Customs Documentation & Compliance
- Manhattan WMS operation essential with a mastery in the loading and shipping module
- MS-Office proficiency with strong Excel skills
- Stakeholder Communication & Problem Solving
- Must-haves: Matric, Supply Chain diploma advantageous, minimum 3 years’ warehouse experience, Manhattan WMS experience, fluent English, and flexibility in working hours is essential.
