Job Summary: The Product Manager for Maybelline New York will be responsible for the full product lifecycle management of assigned categories or product lines, from conception to launch and post-launch analysis. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and strong analytical skills to drive market share growth and reinforce Maybelline’s position as a leader in the beauty industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate about beauty, consumer trends, and innovation, and possess a proven track record in product management within the FMCG or beauty sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Innovation: Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies aligned with Maybelline’s global brand vision and local market needs. Identify new product opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights.
- Product Development & Launch: Lead the end-to-end product development process, working closely with R&I (Research & Innovation), packaging, supply chain, and external agencies. Manage product timelines, budgets, and ensure successful on-time, in-full launches.
- Market Analysis & Insights: Continuously monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify growth drivers and potential threats. Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for product development and marketing strategies.
- Marketing & Communication: Collaborate with the marketing and communication teams to develop compelling product narratives, launch campaigns, and promotional strategies. Ensure consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints.
- Performance Tracking & Optimization: Analyze sales performance, market share, and profitability of assigned products. Identify areas for improvement and propose corrective actions or new initiatives to maximize product lifecycle value.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central point of contact for all product-related matters, fostering strong relationships with R&I, packaging, sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Budget Management: Manage product-related budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Brand Management, or Marketing within the FMCG, beauty, or luxury goods industries.
- Proven experience in successfully launching new products and managing product portfolios.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, sales figures, and consumer insights.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Creative mindset with a passion for beauty and an understanding of current and emerging trends.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the market are a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
