L'Oréal Japan is seeking a Technical Analytics Manager to join the Chief Data & Analytics Office. In this pivotal role, you will act as the key technical liaison between Japan's business units and the regional data platform team, ensuring that local analytical and reporting needs are met. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who thrives on bridging communication and technical gaps in a fast-paced, multi-market environment. The successful candidate will leverage technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to optimize the use of our centralized Asia Region Data Lake. In this position you will provide the solid foundation needed to turn our raw data into reliable, actionable insights for L'Oréal Japan users.
Key Responsibilities
•Bridge Technical and Business Needs: Serve as the technical expert for L'Oréal Japan, translating local business requirements into actionable data strategies that leverage the regional data infrastructure.
•Enable Analytics and Reporting: Partner with end-users to enhance their ability to extract, analyze, and report on data from the centralized data lake, primarily utilizing tools such as Power BI.
•Ensure Data Integrity: Collaborate with the regional team and local stakeholders (Data Stewards) to promote data quality at the source level, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data used for all analytics and reporting.
•Data Quality & Governance: Provide expert technical guidance to business users on implementing and maintaining data quality controls at the source level. Ensure all data processes align with the standards set by the Chief Data & Analytics Office.
•Drive Local Optimization: Utilize expertise in data modeling, ETL, and SQL to customize data solutions and workflows that serve Japan's specific business requirements.
•Provide Technical Solutions: Act as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying opportunities to improve data usage and providing innovative technical solutions that enhance the data platform's value for L'Oréal Japan.
•Collaboration: This professional will work closely with other data analysts, regional teams, as well as business stakeholders, to understand their needs and provide them with the right data.
Essential skills to look for
•Strong SQL skills: For data extraction, transformation, and management, preferably Cloud database environments like GCP, Azure etc.
•Programming experience: Languages like Python are often used for building ETL pipelines and other automation tasks.
•Data warehousing and modeling: Knowledge of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and experience with data warehouses will be vital.
•Experience with cloud platforms: Experience with cloud services (GCP, Azure, AWS) will be highly valuable.
•Data quality tools and processes: An understanding of how to implement data validation and monitor data lineage.
•Communication skills: The ability to translate technical concepts and data requirements between technical and business teams.
•Language Skill: Fluency in English language, and Business level Japanese language speaking ability is desirable
